We already have it! Why do I need a damn logo to remind me. Tell your marketing people to F*** O** and fix the crap they have caused. You have once again broken a working product because of madness. Every time I load my stuff the drums don’t work until I go into SD3. Are you actually adults!

Take it easy – no one else is seeing the problem you’re supposedly having. I’d suggest taking this up with Toontrack tech support.

I just did the update and it’s working just fine – not seeing the issues the OP is talking about. Then again he’s on Windows and Brad and I are on some version of OSX.

Is there a changelog that shows what’s been changed in this update (and what operating system is required)? I ask because I’ve run into other developer’s products that require an OSX later than High Sierra OSX 10.13.6.

    Hey Jack,

Here’s a link to all the recent release notes.

Thanks – no change to operating system supported or required.

Question: if this update has an issue like what the OP is talking about can I re-install the earlier version?

You have 83 products from Toontrack?

But really if you want a fully functioning system with no glitches this is the only way to go. Apple’s Migration Assistant (frequently called Migration Assassin) Doesn’t give good results. For moving data it’s okay but for programs – not so much.

    Hi,

first I want to point out that you indeed can load kit pieces from other EZX:s in EZdrummer 3; select an instrument, click the drop-down menu for the Instrument and switch library.

When it comes to adding Instruments in SD3, I would save the Rototoms as User Instruments and add them to the kit I am currently working on. See attached pic where I add Rototoms to a kit in the Kicks & Snares EZX.
    AddUserInstrument

    Or did I misunderstand?

    BR,
    John

But will that work across SDX’s? If I read the OP’s post right it seems he wants to pull kit pieces from one SDX into another. This is one area where SD3 falls down against BFD 2/3. I’m coming from that vi so I know what he’s talking about. In BFD 3 you can have a generic template kit and pull kit pieces from any library without going through what one has to do in SD3. Just select the kit piece, load it, done. No messing with mic routing.

There’s another thread on this. It’s a known bug introduced in the latest version. Hopefully an update soon as this is quite major.

Introduced in 3.3.1? The previous version worked ok for me. Haven’t tried anything re: remapping MIDI in the current revision.

If I am working with a simple Reggae groove where you don’t need blasting full on hits but instead moderately hits ( like sidestick on the snare) I usually have to increase the input gain around 18-24 decibel in Studio One to be able to get SD3 leveled with the other instruments like bass, guitar and keyboards.

It’s like the drummer is more gentle to fit the music but if I then happen to click any of the drums with the mouse I get blasted by that instrument at full 127 velocity level

Of course if you’re into metal, things like this wont happen because then it’s pretty much at the max all the time so you wont hear the difference when you click with the mouse to audition the drums.

I know you don’t want to hear this but I’m going to suggest that you’re working wrong. You don’t need to have things at final level when crafting the groove. I used to work with everything at final when recording but learned I have a better end result when working at lower levels and then when mixing and mastering bring the levels up to snuff. I think you’ll find a lot of engineers work that way.

BTW snare sidestick is never really that hot to begin with. A real drummer would know that.

Hello, I’m a brand new user, running mainly as a ProTools plug-in. Same request…PLEASE allow custom naming of blocks 🙂

    All the best,

    -Mike

    Operating system: Windows 10

I too work in PT and do my renaming in PT. I use individual outputs from SD3 to individual tracks in PT with tracks bussed to aux’s in SD3 using the recommendations SD3 gives (with modifications of course).

Never noticed this. Seems fine to me.

Yeah it is a bit louder than regular playing but not that bad UNLESS you’re working at obscenely high volume levels. Even with headphones it’s not that bad. It’s not enough to cause hearing damage if you work at sane levels. The only time I crank the audio levels is when I’m doing a final mix otherwise I’m working at much lower levels. Too loud can fool one into thinking things are great and they probably aren’t. If you think you need to work at high volume levels then you’re hearing is already damaged. Or you don’t know how to properly record.

If you’re referring to the Alesis module itself, i haven’t had to mess with any midi settings on there.  I’m currently using USB output to computer to connect.  Cubase recognizes and allows me to record midi files with it, but when I try to use SD3 VST or Standalone app, it wont do anything.

I’m talking the MIDI preset in SD3. Look in Settings for MIDI in/e-drums and select the preset you need. Your third screenshot shows the page I’m talking about.

Are you using the correct MIDI mapping preset for your Alesis?
