ohh that would be so nice. SD3 really does seem to combine the main feature sets of each. As an owner of both, it looks like there would be little to no use for EZD2 after upgrading SD2 (unless I’m missing something).

Why couldn’t it be handled the way Jamstix does it where you have to manually set the time sig change in both the host and plugin.

I’m surprised you got the time of day from support.

Odd, I am using ezmix 2 fine.. and I think Ive had superior drummer since before windows 7 was released.. im certain superior drummer didnt always require win 7

Do you mean that the latest updated versions havent been tested on <windows 7

Its not a huge deal breaker i guess, Im going to update to a new DAW soon anyway, but it seems like all the sudden the products are listing the windows 7 requirement. I know that some people tried installing superior drummer 2 and the installer wont even install it. It just kicks out the message that it needs windows 7. Im just wondering if I would get the same with EZkeys or would it be more like EZmix 2 and Superior drummer where its just not technically supported but it may work.

    thanks

SD2 users that buy EZD2 would probably do that mostly to
get the new song writing MIDI functionality but EZD2 comes
with two excellent new sound libraries that are not 16 bit.

I won’t be one of them. The songwriting tools look cool but not enough to buy the entire ezd2 product for. That’s like buying a ford mustang but then having to buy a focus just to get the air conditioner

Toontrack should create a way for superior owners to get the songwriting features even if its a purchase plug like ezplayer 2 or something. Those song features are great but it is not a rational path to also buy ezd when you have superior

this is where I am now as well. I have Superior but not EZ. I’d love the the new song features/tapping etc but I would think tht at some point we’d have those available to us in superior. I mean isn’t Superior the “flagship” product? or am I mistaken

Right. Now I can understand that these features took a lot of time and money to develop, and may be more than a S2 update. This might be a great opportunity for Toontrack to come up with a new product. Along the basic lines of EZplayer (being a midi tool only not a sampler), except with the melodic songwriting features of Ezkeys and the Drum featuers of Ezdrummer 2.

Maybe toontrack wants us to buy EZD2 also.. but I cant go that direction. I bought superior to have the best they have to offer. I don’t want to supplement that with EZD for just some of the features..

I would probably pay a reasonable price for a S2 update that gets these features or for a seperate plug like I described.
