Hi John,

I have done all that Toontrack support suggested twice. Here is the list they sent to me.

“If you experience issues after an upgrade of either Logic or your Toontrack software, please try, in the first instance, to delete the following files if they exist”:

/Users/yourname/Library/Caches//AudioUnitCache/com.apple.audiounits.cache
/Users/yourname/Library/Caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache
/Users/yourname/Library/Caches/Logic/com.apple.LogicAudioUnits.plist
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.audio.InfoHelper
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.audio.AudioComponentCache.plist

I will add that Native Instruments will also occasionally launch to a grayed out screen.

Hi John,

The screenshot was confusing. I took the screenshot of EZDrummer 3 but listed my version of EXKeys by mistake. My EZDrummer 3 version is V. 3.1.2. and EZDrummer 2 is V. 2.2.3.

I have EZDrummer, EZDrummer 2, EZDrummer 3, Superior Drummer 3, EZBass and EZKeys 1 & 2. All of these are the latest version.

You have a good eye to catch my mistake!  I have the same issues with all the Toontrack instruments and Native Instrument products as well.

The only fix is save the project, quit Logic, shut down the computer, re-boot the computer, open the project, open the VI istrument and try to remember where I left off. Its frustrating if you are in the zone.

I started with Emagic as well… back when it was only a MIDI sequencer, before audio capabilities. I am too old to wait save the project, quit Logic, shut down the computer, re-boot the computer, open the project, open the VI istrument and triying to remember where I left off.

We should not have to do that as paying customers. Do you think it is the fault of mac OS or the VI app technicians. Lets make them do their job and fix this!

I am surprised no one else is reporting this problem. I posted it on a Logic FB forum and got several suggestions (none worked) but no one else reported they were having an issue with this. I assume its a mac silicon issue. I am on Sequoia 15.7.2 and the same problem occurs with toontrack instruments, Native Instruments and a couple of other VI instrument products… but not all Hmmmm….

It really takes me out of the zone when I am working… having to save the project, quit Logic, shut down the computer, re-boot the computer, open the project, open the VI istrument and triying to remember where I left off.

Yos said OSX26.2 “helped some”… Do you mean it fixed the issue or you still have the issue? Also, did you try the ‘SAFE MODE’ reset? If so, did that help?

Yep, I have the same issue with toontrack launching with the GUI blanked (grayed) out… very frustrating. As stated, the only fix is to save your project, quit Logic Pro, shut down the computer, reboot the computer, launch Logic, and reopen the toontrack instrument. By that time your inspiration has faded.

I have contacted toontrack multiple times about this problem. I followed their instructions not once but twice… it did not resolve the problem!

I am hoping they will fix this!

Does it help if you use the View menu to change to Controls and back to Editor?

I will check the next time the issue occurs. Yes, Apple silicon Sequoia 15.7.2 and I am running Logic 11.2.2 in native mode. I have cotacted tech support twice and got the same response both times. So I’ve followed their instructions twice now. See below…

Thank you for the thorough, thoughtful reply. I am really enjoying EZBass, EZDrummer 3 and EZKeys 2…  great music production software!

I hope your technical team will consider updadting EZKeys 2 to include “Song Creator”. Song Creator is a great idea, its in all the other newer Toontrack products and is an incredible time saver! To set up the form of a song and have the software suggest compatible parts really ignites and simplies the creative process! Please pass this along to your staff. We want it!

Is it permissable to use MIDI (chords and all) “as is” by sequencing several MIDI selections together to create my songs in in EZKeys 2? The EULA is unclear on this subject. I am certain this has been asked before but it is still unclear to me.

Here is an example:

I use an intro from an EZKeys 2 MIDI pack then add a verse from a EZKeys 2 MIDI pack then a chorus etc. Then I create a melody and record the melody (vocal or instrumental) on top of the EZKeys track. I were to publish the song publically for pay, is this within your legal usage agreement if?

I love your products! This subject has concerned me for a long time and I would like to be clear and do the right thing. The reason I purchased the software is because I don’t have the piano technique to play as well as your MIDI performances.

Please update EZKeys 2 to include Song Creator! What a great time saving feature that would be!!

I am a long time user and fan of Toontrack products. I have EZKeys, EZBass, EZ Drummer and Superior Drummer 3, several EZXs and a ton of your MIDI. I just updated to EZKeys 2 and EZDrummer 3. Great stuff and fun to work with. I was excited by the Song Creator feature in EZDrummer 3 and dissappointed when I found Song Creator is not included in EZKeys 2! Having the song form (ABAB etc.) laid out before composing is so helpful. Having those songwriter forms select possible compatible grooves saves a tone of work searching and auditioning. In Superior Drummer Song Creator is difficult to use. In EZ Drummer 3 its much simpler and clear cut. Your users will be doubled if you include this feature in EZKeys 2!! It really is a game changer!

I have the same quesstion??? And it is now 5-25-20!!

 

So I installed sd3 on my desktop with no issues..I want to install it on my drum laptop as well but I had to remove the sd2 library (external ssd) because the drive was full..I go to install the 1st part of the sd3 library and I get a merssage says not enough room so I go to options and try to set the path to the ssd and make a new folder for the library and hit enter..A little box with a error message…THE SELECTED FOLDER IS NOT A VALID INSTALLATION OF SUPERIOR DRUMMER 3 LIBRARY..How do I fix this? thanks…
