I also need access to the Superior Drummer 3 Forum.
Apparently this is a common problem. Why not at least allow everyone to browse the forums.
I never tried it in Reaper 4, but in Reaper 5, go to Option -> Metronome Pre-roll settings.
You can set it to play during Play and/or Record, and/or to count-in before Play and/or Record.
You can also set a number of other options if you need to.
There is an easy work-around for Stand-alone mode, provided you’re not the guitar player.
Set up your drum track the way you want it.
Set a Loop for the first 2 bars only. These are going to act as your count-in.
As soon as the loop returns to Start (Bar 1), click on the loop icon to turn loop off
Your EZ drummer bar numbers will now line up with your sheet music bar numbers.
You should be able to do something similar with EZ Keys.

BTW I too have experimented with BiaB to generate styles I can use with EZK. Any idea about what chord sequence to use in BiaB to optimize this? ……… should the sequence be longer to cover enough variations in BiaB, should I use other chords?
Right now I just enter whatever progression I’m working on in BIAB, and generate a bunch of piano track midi files.
For a library, I’d suggest using various 8 to 32 bar phrases that you can cut to length
Hold the chords from one to 16 beats (whatever seems useful)
If you use ‘push’ chords add some of those too.
Give them a descriptive name that you’ll understand 6 months from now.

I own EZKeys and 3 midi packs. I love it!
But I absolutely agree – This is VITAL
Being able to tab to the next chord and edit it –
Or use the arrow keys to move to the next grid line to edit or insert a chord –
The current way is JUST TOO SLOW!

Anyway, I went back to band in a box for piano ballads. For anything large, EZKeys isn’t there yet.
Something I just tried and it works pretty well is this:
Generate a BIAB piano part and export it as a midi file.
or
Export an EZKeys midi block with the chords you want as a midi file.
Add the export folder to the Browser.
Load the midi file into EZKeys which analyzes it and displays YOUR chords.
Click “use browser midi” to audition clips
Click “Replace” when you find one you like.
Split the file wherever you need to and repeat.

I would like to know if it is possible for me to feed in my own ‘variations’ via midi as the ones available are very limited.
If you’re talking about variations on the included midi files, all you have to do is
– export or drop one into your DAW
– do your variations & save as a midi file.
In EZKeys, MENU -> Browser -> add folder (where you saved the new midi)
It now appears in the Main Browser, and it will show the right chords.
You can do this with any midi file.
I would recommend creating a separate Folder for all your new EZKeys midi files.

Now that there is 6 pack bundles, your best bet is to wait for sales at online retailers such as Audio Deluxe. Got the 6 pack bundle for $109 at the black friday sale (15% off their regular price $129). Thats $18 an add on.
I just ordered the 6 pack bundle (Mar 11) for $129. That’s $21.50 per pack. Not a bad deal since I’ve only found 5 or 6 packs that interest me.
I’ve been looking here for opinions on various packs before I make my final decisions
