In light of the new direction Windows 11 is taking, I will be making the shift to Linux over the next year or so. Therefore I for one, wont be investing anymore in any developer who has no interest to make it possible.
They show an open mind and start to look at it, even basic support of using their plugins in Linux via Wine with VST or native LV2 then I’ll keep buying stuff from them.
So far Toontrack have shown no interest at all. No forsight that they can make their money back and more if they provide us with a way to use SD3 in Linux. MS will soon suck for low latency, dependable audio.

Thanked by: ncschulzeHaving both your audio device and ssd on the usb bus, or even different usb busses is going to fall over a lot quicker.
Try to get your ssd to sata internal. If its a lappy, sacrifice your DVD drive (USB dvd drives are cheap as) or get an mSata or M2 drive for the OS and take out your mobile sim module.
There is something wrong with your installation, you should never get those exclamation marks in the first place.
The MIDI folder should not be altered in any way, we don’t support moving/renaming installed files/folders around so if you are doing anything like that it would be the cause of your problems.
So, my recommendation is to reinstall the MIDI packs (remove any remaining files/folders after uninstalling them) and then run the “Rebuild MIDI database” in “Settings->Advanced”, let the database build itself and then just leave everything alone. If it still doesn’t work you could run the latest Superior3 updater.
Patrik I appeal to you to change this in SD3. The fact is there is more than just the TT world of midi files. Just like Jack007 has said there are 3rd party libraries and all sorts. Please dont dumb it down in TT and confine us to having no choice where to put the midi folder.
I too are always struggling with the exclamation marks because not only do I have 3rd party libraires, but I change my computer every so often and want the midi groove library to be located off the C drive so that its content and organization can persist in the location of my choosing.
+1 for native linux, LV2 ideally
regarding support, please dont let that stop you Toontrack,
for the first few years we’d be happy with a “beta” version (like what Reaper is doing) and let the community support it.
