variable HH problem with TD-8 & Superior

Hi all!
I expanded my Hart kit recently and re-mapped the midi notes to accommodate additional cymbals. I am no longer able to get the subtle variability with opening & closing the HH pedal. I went back to the standard GSM map, but no improvement! :-p Help? I can’t figure out whether it is a problem with the pedal, the TD-8, or the software.

If you load the ‘E-drums’ MIDI Preset when using Toontrack solo (do not select ‘E-drums’ as MIDI controller type), does the HH function as it should?
If not, I’d start examining the module settings first; if so, I’d look into the hatsTrig mapping in the Project where it doesn’t work and your host’s MIDI Input Transforming/Filtering.

I’m confused. Didn’t he say NOT to use the edrums setting?

Edit: Ah I think I get it now after reading the advice a second time. Will try that for myself as my TD8 has never worked well with my VH11 hi hat.
