A while ago one of my drives crashed and now I have trouble installing Superior Drummer 3 for Windows 10.
What to do?
Try this, in the Toontrack Product Manager; Select Superior Drummer 3 > Show Details > Update/Full Product Installer > Download
Download the full installer and run it. I think that should resolve the issue.
Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)
Thanks for your reply. I already did this, because it is the only option to install.
This is what happens:
How large is the download? I just created a Windows VM to try this; the full downloader for 3.1.x was 296.4MB (I don’t usually do any music work on Windows)
Do you get the 1714 error code when you manually run Add/Remove Programs?

Thanked by: willemvanleunenThe size is indeed 296,4, but it refuses to install. So you brought me up to an idea. I also installed a virtual machine, and that gave me the opportunity to install Superior Drummer from scratch. So I decided to re-install windows on my machine (needed to be done anyways).
Now everything is working like charm.
There is something in the manager software that keeps track if the software is installed and then tries to just doesn’t run.
I did not get the 1714 error when I add or remove software manually.
So the problem might be in Windows 10, or in the way the manager works.
Thank you for your support.
Glad you got it sorted out and can get back to making music.
cheers

I had similar problem. I followed Olof’s advice (https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/i-cant-re-install-product-manager-2/#post-2873819) but with a changed parameter ‘ /qn’. Problem solved. Take this tip at your own risk.
There are threads going back as far as March 2020 and there still isn’t a clear fix for this? I tried the command prompt solution, I tried updating Windows, I tried other solutions via google but the only thing that it could be is an issue with the Toontrack installer. It creates a temporary folder with the .msi file and then can’t even find it. I’ve tried finding the temporary folder and selecting it when it asks to find the file, I’ve tried copying the .msi file into other locations, nothing seems to work
