MacOS 12.3
For example, I have all of the latest updates installed for EZDrummer2 according to the Toontrack Product Manager – version 2.2.3. I open up the Cubase VST manager and EZDrummer isn’t shown as available, OR, in the blacklist. I’ve added paths to the plugins folder where the EZDrummer plugins were installed – Macinstosh HD/Library/Plug-Ins/VST & Macinstosh HD/Library/Plug-Ins/VST3. When re-scanning these locations, Cubase finds nothing new.
I am running Cubase 12 in Apple native mode but my understanding is that Toontrack products should be supported.
Any help appreciated.
Cubase 12 in Apple silicon native mode does not support VST 2, only VST 3. EZdrummer 2 is VST 2 only. You would need to run Cubase in Rosetta mode to use EZdrummer 2 in it.

Thanked by: Scott Eshleman and clineschmditThanks. Well, that’s a bummer. Does Toontrack plan to release a VST3 version?

I looked through the details and the Q&A and found no specific mention of a VST3 version.
Sure…EZD3 will run on Cubase back to version 6, but so will EZD2 if you don’t run Cubase on a Mac in native mode because you don’t care about actually taking advantage of your hardware lol. Not convinced…
Actually…in little tiny print I did find this: “It may still work but a prerequisite is that the host supports VST3, AU or AAX instruments.”
More encouraging…
Interesting that Olof the Toontrack moderator never responded when asked if there would be updates to VST3. Some type of response would have been nice, even if the answer is “No”. I am disappointed. I am also wondering if EZKeys and EZMix will ever be updated to VST3!
Hi,
updates to the long since discontinued EZdrummer 2 will most likely not happen but EZdrummer 3 is VST3, as is EZbass and Superior Drummer 3.

I am completly dissapointed with Toontrack. I have spent so much money on Superior Drummer 2. I had a little break from music, and now after some time I returned and S2 does not work on silicone Mac. There are no updadates and I cant even upgrade to S3 – there is and cressgrade from EZ but not from S2. WTF!?
Why you dont offer upgrade from S2 but only from EZ?! S2 costed me a lot and is useless right now! I am completely dissapointed with Toontrack.

Hi,
Superior Drummer 2 was discontinued 8 years ago, so it is not strange there is no silicon native version. However, if you can run your host in Rosetta mode, it might still work.
The upgrade to Superior Drummer 3 was discontinued Dec 31st 2018 but I would recommend keeping an eye out for specials, BF deals, etc.

Thanks fot reply, but still cant come to terms with the fact there is no upgrade. I do not have this problem with other soft for ex. Cubase where I can upgrade from all old versions to current one. Its about being fair to the clients who have spent a lot of money. I think I can get other soft like SSD or IK even for free saying farewell to Toontrack in that situation. I really fell extremely disappointed especially while we are talking about your flagship product :(((((((((
