Hello, I am starting this thread so that everyone can start a tally of known bugs and issues users experience in SD3, that have yet to be addressed. In hopes that it will spur toontrack to address the issues.
1. sd3 audio crashes in standalone mode with lower sample rates. Although while using SD3 as a vst in Ableton, using the same sample rates, there is no trouble. (There is obviously an issue with the standalone version here.)
2. Presets need to be updated for the latest modules. For example, all Roland kits that come with a TD-27 module now come stock with the Roland VH-14d digital hi hats. These hi hats allow bell articulations. The TD-27 preset does not fully support this hi hat pad. I’ve been told on this form that I should just use the td-50x preset. Why can’t toontrack just update their preset? I’ve also had better luck with the PD-140DS digital snare using the td-50x preset. This shouldn’t be the case for a at minimum $400 piece of software that has legitimate competition.
Let’s keep this list going.
Drum sound module: TD-27
Snare: PD-140DS

3. In Superior Drummer 3 (SD3) the song start bar is internally hard coded to bar 1. That means if your song starts at say bar -2 in your DAW because you want a two bar count-in and you have set bar 0 (zero) as your song start, then it is too bad because SD3 will not start playing until bar 1. SD3 needs to be able to start at any bar number, including negative numbers. See https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/count-in-3/#post-2717740
4. All Toontrack forums need to READ enabled for everyone, all registered Toontrack product owners and the general public. Toontrack forums need to REPLY enabled for all registered Toontrack product owners, not just the owners of the specific Toontrack product the forum is for. See https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/really-you-need-to-be-registered-for-a-specific-product/#post-2933165
5. In Superior Drummer 3 (SD3) you can name song parts by selecting from the following list, (Intro, Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Pre Chorus, Outro, Fill, Ending). A button is required named “Add Custom Song Part” or something similar, so that custom song part names can be added and saved for later SD3 sessions. That way users could add such song parts as (Count In, Verse 1, Verse 2, Pre Verse, Pre Bridge, Solo 1, Solo 2, Break, Instrumental, Silence, Stop, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) or anything else they require.
1. sd3 audio crashes in standalone mode with lower sample rates.
Hi,
can you please provide Toontrack Support with crash logs? When you write lower sample rates, what are we talking about?
As for the other points, they look like feature requests to me and would be better posted in the ‘Requests & Feedback’ section of the forum.
BR,
John
