New song with Rock Solid EZX drums to check out as of January 9th!

Definitely an interesting song. Always enjoy listening to your stuff, and sometimes crawling inside your mind. 😀

Not saying that you should do this, but if it were my song, I probably would have used a bit less aggression on the vocals and made it a bit more “in your face”. For myself, I probably would’ve sang it a bit less harsh and slammed the vocals while reducing the echo. I might have even doubled it with a whisper for this song to match the vibe of the music, at least to how I hear it. However, that’s me. YMMV

Holy Cow, Bear-Faced Cow!  You work on 25 songs at once?  Or you are just adding bass to 25 older songs?  I typically only allow myself to work on one song at a time.  But I am currently juggling 2 songs.  About 90% done with one of them.

It’s definitely not all at once. There are some new songs and some songs that were born out of ideas that were sitting on my hard drive for sometime and some songs that I just felt I could do better on bass. I have been using the past six months to improve my bass guitar technique and had noticed that I did not like the bass guitar track that was on the one song that I wanted to complete. One thing led to another over the past few weeks, and before I knew it, I found myself with 25 songs with bass guitar tracks, including two that I made from grooves out of midi packs that people were complaining about on the forum. So, now I am in a better spot to get some songs out, and with lock down, I don’t have any excuses.

OK, thank you for clarifying.  If a person has a bunch of songs, a person could spend the rest of their life trying to tweak & improve old songs.  I guess there is a happy medium in there somewhere.  Not the same thing as you, but when I upgraded from a 4-track cassette recorder to a Roland VS-880, I spent a lot of time rerecording dozens of songs until I could not stand it any longer.

I only have a precious few songs that I have re-recorded over and over as technology changed. My only incentive for the ones that I had re-mixed over again was because of drums like The Rock Foundry breathed a while new life into them. Other than that, the rest of my songs serve as lessons, even if it is what not to do.

As far as the 25 goes, these are songs that I either haven’t mixed yet, were incomplete, or were still in the idea phase and I was entertaining my new found confidence playing bass. Only one of those was built from scratch, and even then it was an experiment where I picked a groove and was pondering what I could do on bass.
