Hello. I’m sure this question has been asked before, but I couldn’t find an example of my exact situation.
I have an old Win7 PC that I have EZ Drummer 2, SD2, SD3, various Midi packs and SDX and EZX expansion packs installed. I have all of the expansion Midi packs, SDX, and EZX, and Core SD3 sound libraries installed on a separate drive in a dedicated “Toontrack_Sound_Libraries” folder.
I have a new Win10 PC and I want to migrate all my Toontrack products to this new PC. I moved the separate drive with my Toontrack_Sound_Libraries folder from m Win7 PC to my new Win10 PC. Now I want to install the EZD2, SD2, and SD3 programs and plug-ins, but not have to re-download and install all of the sound libraries. What is the best approach for this? The product manager doesn’t know that I moved over all of the sound libraries to my Win10 PC, and it won’t let me authorize anything since it wants me to install it first. Also, I just downloaded the EZD2 installer, but it doesn’t give me an option to skip installing the sound libraries.
Is there any way to do this cleanly (handling the authorizations, etc.) without having to redownload all of the sound libraries? Or am I better off just redownloading everything and starting from scratch?
The more I think about this, I’ll probably just redownload everything unless there’s something I’m missing. I thought I was being smart by carrying over the sound libraries to my new PC, but maybe there’s no good way to do this after all. I guess downloading everything again isn’t too painful.
Operating system: Windows 10
