Metalcore Drum sound

Hi, i own both EZX Drumkit from Hell and Superior Drummer 2.0 + Metal Foundry, and i am trying to replicate a Metalcore drum sound.

Im trying to get a punchy Kick drum sound similar to As I Lay Dying or Parkway Drive.

so far my attempts have been lacking and my kick is too boomy and my snare sounds weak and thin.

any advice on good kits to use,  EQing / Compression, etc, would be greatly apprectiated!

but i know i can get results with the software i already own, so any advice for DFH / Metal Foundry?
