    Hi,

please use the Product Manager to uninstall and remove the Authorizations on your old computer.
You may have to download the installers again to be able to uninstall, if you have deleted them from your drive.
Then download, install and Authorize your products on your new computer.

Hey it’s it possible to do a mass download and installation of many products at once?

Product manager is AWESOME but I just recently had to download and install 50 products on a new hardrive and now have to do it again for a new computer…

So any quicker tips and a workaround for just individual downloads and installation would be great…

    Thx, Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

if you haven’t deleted the download files, you can transfer them to your Product Manager’s Download folder on the new computer.
Other than that, when it comes to downloading many products, I’d just click download on all of them and let the Product Manager’s queue system take care of it.
SDX:s can easily be moved from one computer to another and relinked, which is described in the SD3 Manual.
EZmix2 and presets are best re-downloaded and re-installed.

    >>>>>>The following is really not recommended if you do not know your way around in your filesystem:
EZX:s and EZK:s and Toontrack MIDI can be copied to the new computer but is more sensitive to user error, if you don’t get it right.
Then you still need to install EZdrummer 2/EZkeys on the new computer, then remove the ‘EZdrummer’/’EZkeys’ folder containing your expansions and MIDI, followed by launching the standalone and point to where your copied ‘EZdrummer’/’EZkeys’ folder is. Alternatively, you could install and update EZdrummer/EZkeys first, then overwrite the ‘EZdrummer’/’EZkeys’ folder containing the sounds and MIDI with the copied folders from the old computer.
This would require that you are fully updated on the old computer and making sure that you also have the latest EZdrummer 2/EZkeys installed on the new, before copying the folders.

So, if you don’t have many EZX:s/EZK:s and MIDI Packs, it’s not worth risking getting it wrong, I would say.

I have to say this is not inspiring when you have many packages like I have for both Ezdrummer and Ezkeys, in fact it puts me off buying packages as this is quite a lot of work to go uninstall everything and reinstall it given with a Mac you have backup and restore and off you go, but not so with Toontrack!! I think your basis for Product Manager is protection and copying is flawed. You should look at Apple licensing who allow you to run their products on a number of machines. This will cause you to lose money not make it!

Toontrack, I would highly recommend you look at multiple machine licensing a la Apple. You will lose me as a customer if I have to spend hours checking everything!

    Hi Robert,

you are allowed to have 2 active computer Authorizations at the same time with the current system.

As I just purchased a new Intel i7 8th gen with massive power to upgrade the quality of my home studio, I am rather shocked that the Toontrack Product Manager can not just simply recognize the many products I have purchased and transfer them to my new computer and into Pro Tools. This is counterproductive and poorly designed. From the comments above, my understanding is that I need to set up my old computer again, write down all the serial numbers from all of my MIDI packs, EZ Keys, et al and use the Product Manager to reinstall them. Absolutely ridiculous engineering.

Please tell me there is a more intelligent and efficient manner to perform this.

Not a happy customer at the moment.

    Absolutely ridiculous engineering.

Well, you download the Product Manager, click the products you want to download/install from your list of purchased products. That’s about it.

I have the older EZdrummer I bought several years ago and install on an old PC that’s long gone (before the Toontrack PM came out).   It was so long ago I don’t remember my account.  Recently, I want to get back into recording with my new PC.  I downloaded the PM program but it sees the serial number belongs to my old account on my old PC that is long gone.

Will it be possible to register it on my new PC.  I can provide serial number and name?

    Thanks,

    Rob

If it’s still authorized to the old computer it will work to install it to your new PC, since you can have 2 active authorizations in the same time.

What if I’m using the exact same external hard drive for all my EZ Drummer files. I bought a new comp and a) I do not want to install the product manager. I just don’t believe in having those types of things constantly running on my machine, so I use the web version. and b) I already have all the files already installed on the same hard drive from the old computer – isn’t there some way to just kind of “re-link” the installed files?

I’ve tried the installers, but save for the base EZ Drummer installer, all of my purchased kits, etc. want to install to the C: drive with no option in the installer to change that. This seems like amateur hour stuff – letting the user choose the install directory. Why wouldn’t it allow me to do that?

    @Andrew:

When something is already installed with a specification of the ‘EZHOME’ repository location, you do not get a ‘Custom’ install option.

Also, since the EZX:s and MIDI need to be in an “absolute” location, i.e. you can’t install some parts here and some other parts there, it is only the plugin(s) that offer the ‘Custom’ install.

However, if you have a hard drive with all your EZX:s and Toontrack MIDI installed, you can actually point to it, using (sort of) the same procedure as when moving your EZdrummer 2 sounds.
    https://www.toontrack.com/faq/how-do-i-move-the-sounds-for-ezdrummer-2/

On your new computer, you install EZdrummer 2 with the latest update, then locate the ‘EZdrummer’ folder on your internal drive and delete it.
When launching EZdrummer 2, you will be prompted for the location of the Sounds and then you point to the ‘EZdrummer’ on your other drive.

This will set the new path on your system for the ‘EZHOME’ repository and subsequently installed EZX:s and Toontrack MIDI will be installed here.

@jorja614: maybe there’s something in here for you as well?

    Hi,

I kept all the downloaded files  but TT Manager on the new PC doesn’t care about it. I tried to reset and give the right path again, refresh product list but it doesn’t work. I have a fast internet connection but I find it stupid to download GB of data again. What could I try to avoid downloading again?

    TIA

    Hi FL,

did you move the files the PM on your old PC had downloaded? OR do you mean that you have moved the installed files?

If you move the contents of the PM’s ‘Downloads’ folder on the old PC to the corresponding one on your new PC, PM will scan the files when you click ‘Download’ and not really download again.
