Hey there,
I am in the beginnings of setting up a home studio for myself and looking at creating the E-drum/New York Studio Vol.3 combination to run in Logic Pro 9.
Question: Do I need a version of Superior drummer for NYStudio Vol.3 to work, or can I buy a version of NYStudio Vol.3 as a stand alone program to run in Logic Pro 9, for example is NYStudio Vol.3 just an expansion pack of superior drummer?
Thanks
Andy
You’ll need to purchase the Superior Drummer 2 plugin to use the NY Studio Vol.3 with.

Does this mean the full program or, what is the plugin? Can you point me in the right direction?
Sorry mate, Ive only spoke to a few people about the program, not the installation etc…
You need this:
http://www.toontrack.com/product/superior-drummer-2/
to use the NY Studios Vol.3 library. The Vol. 3 library includes just sounds that are loaded into the S2 plugin sampler.
Included with the S2 plugin is a separate library of sounds (NY Vol. 1 Avatar library).
Shop around for the best price. The Toontrack webshop doesn’t necessarily have the best price.

just to add if it helps>
Logics own AU plug in’s have the Sample sounds pre loaded when you install logic
In logic you have Midi Instruments as well as Audio tracks as i am sure you know,
When you opt for a midi instrument an empty track will open , in this you load an various AU Plugin’s and just as explained above you absolutely
must have the plugin SD2 AU plugin ( engine ) to use any of the libraries ( sounds) , in this case NYStudios3 is an SD Xpansion library.
Once you use it, it will make perfect sense.
Cheers Guys,
Your help makes complete sense! It is what I had in mind, just needed clarification.
Thanks again
Andy
