Hello,
Further update…seems the trouble was an extra length past the proper end of the wave file (time based on bpm and measures) was fooling warp in ableton or tempo match in reaper. Once those were turned off wave came in on time…with the extra tail of course. Further searching in the forum also found others mentioned the extra tail and the need to edit in order to properly use files for loops.
Nice enhancement might be a way to export without the tail. Mention was made that it was natural drum sample decay but looking at the wave close up past the proper measure line the tail was basically flat so no audio info was in there.
Issue solved.

Hello John,
Thanks for your reply.
On the track I was experimenting with I neglected to note the original tempo. I also split and added instruments again without noting tempos. So to be sure I made the following test. I took drum beat original at 110 BPM added to song. Song set at 120 BPM. Exported both MIDI and wave into Reaper set to 120 BPM. MIDI came in at expected length (8 measures)..wave file did not match. Repeated exports at 110 BPM and imported at 110 BPM. Files matched perfectly. Still need to experiment with splitting and adding instruments again as I suspect the issue will return unless the added instrument is at same original tempo.
I also noted that there appears to have been a similar issue in superior drummer that was corrected per these release notes:
https://www.toontrack.com/faq/release-notes-for-superior-drummer-3-1-1/
Interestingly the search box notes the issue but the release notes seem to have had that line edited to remove the part about the mismatch. See attached screen capture of my search.
Assume this is a bug but workaround seems to be pay attention to original tempos and make tempo adjustments in target DAW.
