I could pick your often repeated claims apart line by line, but instead……

IMO that this has been a good thread for helping some of us become better acquainted with EZ Keys, might we continue along that vein

.It is possible my headline “Not a Band in a Box” can be misleading.
LOL. No kidding.
Anyway, on with getting better acquainted.
For the record I didn’t suggest it was ‘unacceptable’, I said it was a shame. It was a shame his review stuck out amongst a bunch of 4 and 5 star reviews, simply because EZkeys is not BIAB.

Don’t you think its fair to be compared to existing types of software good or bad , being a 2012 product you would hope it would be heaps better. Time will tell .
Not at all fair, unless the product is advertised as a competing product.
For example, is BIAB a virtual piano instrument?
It’s like comparing Superior to Maschine. You could give Superior 2 stars for not coming with a hardware sequencer box, and not including a couple of gigs of hip-hop and techno samples.
This is the core of my issue with Tombur.
EZkeys didn’t turn out to be BIAB, so he gave it a bad rating instead of just reviewing it for what IT IS
Make sure you have two complete EZX’s. One is the full mic set up, the second is the four mic set up.
You can make your own folder in the EZkeys library can’t you, and import midi to that?
(I read it somewhere, haven’t tried it myself).
You are right Juicy, but just to add a difference in velocity values can change the sound performance of Superior and EZdrummer.
So if LOTE is all slamming 127’s and Metal Machine is not, you’ll feel there is a different sound.
Easily fixed with a change of velocity edit, but simple things like that can sometimes freak people out.
Of course, but some here are already predicting a price and complaining.
Fact is, a midi library expansion would likely be around $35, based on other Toon products.
If an organ or electric piano had been extensively multi-sampled, the $80 price guessed at by Skiltrip could be well justified.
I’m seeing black midi info on my blocks in EZkeys as a demo.
I’m on an iMac using the latest version of Logic.
No idea why you aren’t seeing them as I’m not a tech head, but I can report it working well here.
But if you are talking about expanding the library, Toon midi libraries are 25euro, about $33!
The simple solution is to drag all your clips into a DAW, and do the arrangement there. Isn’t that what everybody is doing with EZdrummer and Superior?
Or maybe some of these features don’t appeal to others as much as you?
This product was extensively beta tested by a panel of Toontrack customers.
I totally get the feedback that EZkeys could have additions, I just think it’s wrong to imply the current version is flawed.
It’s a small footprint virtual piano instrument with a midi library – just like EZdrummer.
Have you tried dragging one of the supplied midi grooves from your library into a midi track in PT10?

So to me EZK is still mainly a loop arranger
It isn’t. It’s a virtual piano instrument with a midi library. They just expanded the midi library concept beyond how it was implemented in EZdrummer and Superior.
Having said that, I get that you are frustrated and have made suggestions Toontrack could implement, and they sound like reasonable suggestions.
