It’s something in Pro Tools.
I don’t have it open right now, but my quick answer is to look up ‘recording midi’ in your Pro Tools user guide.
That’s why I usually use the note selection instead of region.
You just select all the notes in the fill, then you can see the verse groove notes (static) as you slide the fill around.
But yeah, the region view is just as useful for large group editing.

Thanks for your reply, was wanting to move the whole fill at once, not just a note at a time.
I don’t know if EZdrummer is different, but when using Superior in Pro Tools I routinely move groups of notes in note edit.
You just drag the hand tool over them which highlights all the notes you want to move.
Or you can do the region thing as suggested above.
In note view you can move any number of notes from 1 to all of them.

If you grab something and can’t move it, one explanation might be you have the grid selected and the grid is set at 1/4 notes or bigger.
In that way the midi will only snap to the nearest quarter note. If you want to move it by a smaller amount it just wont do anything.
You need to select slip mode in that case.
In PT you can edit midi four different ways – slide, relative grid, absolute grid….can’t remember the fourth but it’s like snap to position.
You need to be in slide to nudge completely freely, although relative grid sometimes works.
Make sure you are zoomed in, as that defines how finely you can slide things.
Drag the mouse over the notes you want to move, then start sliding.
Probably best to save your song just before, as once they are slid they have no reference to their original position (unless you ‘undo’).
There is another way you can specifically nudge notes using the arrows on your computer keyboard, but you’ll have to look up the PT User Guide to read up about that.
99.9% likely to be a communication problem between your keyboard and Acid Pro.
Do you have a user guide to look up how to use virtual instruments in Acid?
You should also make sure you are registered to access the EZdrummer support area of this forum.
The trouble is fills are very improvised.
Even the same fill can work different ways, for example depending on which beat you start it on.
My suggestion would be this…… try locating the end of the fill first.
Look at the last bar of your verse or chorus.
Try positioning the last note of the chosen fill on either the last quarter note, or eighth note or sixteenth note of that bar.
Only one position may sound right to you, or even all three.
Fills are unfortunately rather subjective.
You can start playing patterns in using a midi keyboard.
Also, it’s a really quick and easy idea to drag grooves that are in the ballpark of what you want from the EZdrummer library into PT and moving/deleting the midi notes until it sounds exactly how you want. That way you can keep the good feel of a drummer, but tailor the grooves exactly to your needs.
