Yeah.
But with EZMix it’s a little hard to get inside the effects or how they were used.
I can’t answer question number one.
Why don’t you just download the demo and give it a go?
What are you looking for? The two EZX’s you mention are quite different to Beatstation.
I don’t really understand ‘looping tool’ either.
Think of Beatstation as an easy to use sampler that integrates perfectly with your DAW.
It has REX loops, but also a library of individual drum hits, multi sampled basses and keys. You can write a midi part, or use midi from your EZX or Superior to trigger sounds in Beatstation.
Not the wrong place to post.
It’s the ‘feedback’ forum. Thanks for your feedback!

Exactly. To a certain extent ignore the pre-set names.
You can see a list of the components in each pre-set, but it’s also worthwhile just spinning through all pre-sets until you find one that gives the desired result. A piano pre-set can sound killer on drums.
Did you read the info link I just posted.
I think your posted your question in the Studio Corner forum, which is not a sector for support questions.
Just trying to help.

And your question has already had two decent replies.
That’s why I asked you whether you’d really looked at The Classic, because it has the tonal qualities you talk about (IMHO).
The Helios console is very nicely bright and zingy. Certainly there was no intention of going a retro route, especially as nearly all the drums are fairly contemporary, the Craviotto being the cream of the current crop.
I don’t think there is a perfect Toontrack library for Afro and Reggae, but as far as bright and expressive hi-hats, a discreet but powerful kick, and a fat snare side stick….. that pretty much describes The Classic IMO.
I wouldn’t say ‘The Classic’ was old fashioned.
Have you really tried it, or are you going on a gut feeling?
This music is not something I listen to. So I can’t compare the pre-set demo to any other well known tracks in this genre.
No plans for an SDX at present.
Yeah, The Classic is all new and sounds quite different (IMO) to C&V.
The best thing currently about Beatstation to me is the quickness and ease of use.
As I said, I mostly use my own sounds.
Presumably you can use any REX based file too. I haven’t tried to import my own.
The bass and lead synths have a good quality to them, although they are not so much my thing (younger musician?), so I haven’t used them much.
It’s also only stereo out…. you know that?
By the way, it makes a great stereo drum enhancer for Superior or EZdrummer.
Drop one of your own samples onto a Beatstation pad, and drag your midi from a Superior drum track to a Beatstation track. Voila.
Firstly I’m no Beatstation expert.
I’ve dabbled with it a bit. It’s extremely easy to use and very quick to get good results with.
I’ve mainly used it with my own samples, both melodic and percussive.
I can’t say I’ve gone through the basses in any detail. The REX grooves sound professional and well tuned, well recorded.
But I think it might be dangerous to compare Beatstation with a dedicated bass library aimed at professionals.
You can use your MPC to send midi to a Toontrack program such as Superior or EZdrummer.
