Unfortunately, the correct answer is both.
There isn’t a wrong way to work with inspiration. Many drum grooves have inspired guitar riffs, and vice versa.
Posts older than a certain date get deleted. I’m down to 175, and I invented this forum shortly after I invented the internet.

The new, mind-altering forum code is beginning to take hold… excelllllllllllent.
What amazes me is how physicists documented the different vibration modes of a membrane (what we’re seeing here in hi-def videos) in articles using pencil drawings in the 1950’s and 1960’s. I see this and think, “Wow! How nice that would have been for them to have available.” In some tests, they would put sand on a snare or timpani heads, strike the drum, and document how the sand shifted.
The “betatester” for Toontrack was one of the primary reasons why I think there’s no harm here. You are not just some random forum spammer, but have an active interest in Toontrack.
I think it’s fine. You’re obviously excited about the product, a betatester, and sharing some information. If you have a financial stake in this, you should be fair and disclose that.
