It’s not a Toontrack issue. The problem is the metadata and the fact that there is no standard. IOW, developers are free to use it as they see fit.
GGD just happens to be using metadata that conflicts with how Toontrack uses it.
Only reason you won’t see an issue in logic is because logic doesn’t have any use for that particular metadata so it gets ignored.

Thanks, that’s really helpful info.
Don’t suppose you happen to know what metadata I should be looking write a script to strip out ?
cheers

Anyone found other “fixes” for this?
Coming back to music for the first time in ages and noticing this issue again. If I drag the midi loop into Logic Pro it happily shows it as 8 bars long, yet EZ drummer still shows it as 1000 bars long.
Still sounds like a Toontrack issue to me.
Thanks Brad.
I was more hoping for a Toontrack soluution since the loops open fine to the correct length in Logic for example, so it appears to be an issue in EZdrummer.
Help me toontrack, you’re my only (unless I want to pay others to fix an issue with your product) hope….

Thanked by: locruser, Dean Lawn and FurtherAny progress on getting a demo version out? Or indeed a sale?
Still full price and no trial?
Hope we get a new version soon and that the updater works ok this time…
I’m running 2.1.8 which I had to manually install from my previous harddrive because the installer wasn’t offering vst and au options now, weirdly.
Okay, update: I have been meticulously scrutinizing when this error occurs and what is causing it, and I’ve narrowed it down. It’s something to do with having the Piano Roll open (when your EZdrummer track is selected, so you can see your MIDI notes), and then: moving the playhead (in my experience, backwards really triggers a freeze) and then pressing the spacebar. All of this when the Cycle Range is OFF.
I’ve found a workaround for now that’s not TOO cumbersome!! I’ve been working for almost 15 minutes uninterrupted now, editing MIDI on an EZdrummer track and hitting the spacebar as much as I please, but I had to alter my workflow so as to not an encounter a “spinning wheel of death” freeze every few seconds. Everyone try this:
- When editing an EZdrummer MIDI region with the Piano Roll open, FIRST set your Cycle Range (the yellow “repeat” bar) to the MIDI area you’re working on.
- If you’re like me and like to tweak, listen, tweak, listen – make your edits to the EZdrummer MIDI track, then hit the spacebar to listen… DON’T move the playhead with your mouse to the area you want to listen to, as that seems to trigger a freeze! If your Cycle Range is in the right place for your desired preview, all you have to do is keep hitting the spacebar and playback will start back right where you want it to, without having to move the playhead manually with your mouse.
Voila! A little annoying but, until Toontrack releases an update (for presumably Logic Pro X 10.6.1), give it a try and see if this works for you for now, too!

I’d like to not set the expectation that a fix for logic 10.6.1 is what a needed. Logic worked fine with 2.1.8 regardless of version and then 2.2.0 broke things. I either need a fix that runs with logic 10.4 on Mojave or a nice clean way of getting 2.1.8 back and then clarity from toon track about what OS and version of logic is required to run newer versions so I can decide whether to upgrade/ buy new products.
What plugin format do you need? Only other suggestion I have is pop your email address here and hope someone sends you it whilst you wait for toontrack to resolve the source of the issue.
Hopefully they’ll make a nice clean (well tested) update that fixes these issues.
is to revert – to come back to the last 2.1.8 version by a line code given by Toontrack
What is this/where do you get it?
I’ve had similar issues with 2.2.0 on Imac with Mojave. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and now EZdrummer doesn’t even try to install AU or VST.
I’m not sure if this is about Big Sur, or the latest version of EZDrummer 2. I have problems since updating EZDrummer last week (and I’m still on Mojave)
