What version of EZD2 have you installed?
What version number is displayed in the lower right corner of EZD when in standalone?
Have you set your path to the appropriate plugin version in Cubase like in this FAQ:

Thanks for the hint – that was it! I’d installed 64-bit EZD2 as my version of Windows 7 is 64-bit. I didn’t even consider Cubase, even it IS mentioned during the installation process…
