I am using a TD-6V and run midi into a decent sound card. I have zero latency. Have your first set up the module so it plays perfectly. Put headphones straight into module and set up. This means you have optimised your module. Then you can plug into soundcard/module on PC and if you have the right asio drivers then you should get perfect response.
The only thing you will get better if you buy newer module is the hihat triggering. Those modules have better kits but as you are using ez drummer then it doesn’t matter.
One other thing, if you have older pads that came with the TD-6 then these are not so good. I have a PDX-100 as a snare and all meshtoms plus dual trigger cymbals with choke.
My point is that the TD-6 is not the limitation as it only passes on midi.
