With high velocity I get the typical Pop articulation for all notes higher or equal to C2. In fact I believe even lower velocity is the Pop articulation, just less audible.

For everything below C2 I only get the Slap (thumb) articulation. So it means I can’t Slap the first two frets on the A string. Is this intended?

I just realised that this feature would actually not make any sense in EZbass.

If you for instance play the open E string it will trigger the exact same sample pool as if you play the same E on the fifth fret of the lower B string. So there are individual sample pools for each pitch, but not for each specific fret on each string.

I believe to understand why Toontrack did it this way and it’s fine for me. Just something to keep in mind.

    Hey John,

any news regarding this topic? Did someone investigate this deeper and can finally confirm and address the issue?

    Thanks

    Hi John,

    yes,

    • Layer limits are all set to ‘-‘
    • ‘Use adjacent layers’ is turned off
    • Using latest Superior Drummer 3 version and The Metal Foundry SDX version (1.5.0)

I am 100% confident this is not an user issue. Other users also reporting the same issue.

Please try it yourself. Use the respective hi-hat articulation Open 3, 4 or 5 and repeat with 127 velocity. You will see there are a lot of extremely soft hits in the sample pool. Sounds like the drummer is loosing his stick repeatedly. ?

    Thanks for investigating.
