From the EZkeys2 product page:

Buy a regular EZkeys title before EZkeys 2 is released and get the EZkeys 2 upgrade included.

Buy a regular EZkeys title now, get the upgrade included!

Start using EZkeys directly and move up to EZkeys 2 on release day Sounds and MIDI from the legacy version will work in EZkeys 2

You can’t purchase EZkeys2 until launch day (May 16). You can pre-order the upgrade OR purchase an EZkeys1 Instrument now until May 16 and get a free upgrade to EZkeys2.

Check out the EZkeys 2 Bandmate features. Not sure it will generate chords from only a guitar melody though.

Yes. Purchasing the instrument comes with the EZkeys1 player and the sound library and the MIDI.

In addition, if you purchase the EZkeys1 instrument before the release of EZkeys2 (May 16, 2023) you will get the free version 1 to 2 upgrade.

There is no ‘VST only with no sound library’ option. The vst player comes with the EZkeys 1 Instrument.
