Also, I see from your screenshot you’re working on midi within the EZD2 track editor. I am not, I’m working on midi in Reaper. I don’t know why that should make a difference, but I’ll check.

I was testing Tool Tips for the knobs in “Edit Play Style” mode
when I made the screenshot showing the E-Knob setting on the dropdown menu.

AFAIK, “Edit Play Style” mode is only accessible when using MIDI in the track editor.
That’s all. Wasn’t meant to infer any connection to the issue overall.

I can’t see how I can control the tempo in my host DAW

    what DAW are you using??

Works for me (with caveats). I’m using Mac OSX 10.8.5.

While the “E-Knob” setting was in ‘Linear Mode’,
I got parameter setting pop-ups only when in the “Edit Play Style” function (by clicking on the knob).
I got no response from the knobs on the instrument dropdowns on the Drum tab until I moved it to a new setting.

While the “E-Knob” setting was in ‘Relative Circular Mode’,
I got parameter setting pop-ups when in both the “Edit Play Style” function
and from the knobs on the instrument dropdowns on the Drum tab by clicking on the knob.

I found (regular) ‘Circular Mode’ unusable with a mouse.

You don’t say what DAW you’re using,
but I tested a multi-track MIDI file that I have by dragging it into Pro Tools 11,
Logic Pro X, EZKeys and EZDrummer2.

EZKeys, like Pro Tools and Logic, recognized each of the separate instruments within the file.
Pro Tools and Logic imported each of the separate instruments onto its own instrument track, if enough were available.
EZKeys prompted me to select which of the separate instruments to import into the EZKeys timeline. (shown below)
EZDrummer2 neither recognized separate instruments nor prompted for import of a specific instrument.
It imported the entire multi-track file. What a mess of drum-only cacophony!!
It seems you’d have to find a way split out the drums from your MIDI file for EZDrummer2 – like importing it into Pro Tools & Logic.
    Hope this helps.

    Yeah, I apologize.
    I misrepresented your illustration.

    Please check again.
There should be a Toontrack folder under “Applications” containing EZDrummer2.

How do non-customers download the EZD2 demo in a different format than the requesting computer’s OS?
example: how to download MAC version of the demo from a PC?
The demo page seems to pre-determine which format is delivered automatically.

I have to locate the part, then manually split the single MIDI block in 3 blocks, delete the incorrect one and replace with a new one.

Would be great of we could keep the MIDI blocks separated when dropping them in the DAW.

I understand your frustration. I was surprised when I first encountered this.
But then you’re only talking about 3 blocks.
Just drag each of the 3 blocks into Reaper one-at-a-time to keep them separated.

Or, just leave the blocks in EZKeys to play (and re-edit) from within your plugin.
(Assuming that you’re using EZKeys as a plugin within Reaper and not in standalone mode.)

Thanks, is that for each one?

No. That is the total installed disk space used by that group of EZX’s.

    Download files sizes are:

    EZDrummer2: (3.1 GB)
    updates: 95.32 MB & 43.53 MB

    Latin Percussion EZX: (578 MB)
    updates: 8.13 MB & 6.95 MB

    Blues EZX: (474 MB)
    updates: 17.73 MB & 6.13 MB

    Rock! EZX: (1.2 GB)
    updates: 18.5 MB & 6.09 MB

various MIDI expansion packs run 6-10MB each

you’re lookin’ at about 6.56 GB for the EZX’s you’ve listed.

You need version 2.0.2 to use the Made of Metal EZX. http://www.toontrack.com/product/made-of-metal-ezx/

EZDrummer2 installs as both a plugin and a standalone application.
You will not need Solo to use EZDrummer2 negating the ‘issues’ about saving tracks in Solo (whatever they may be?).
Creating, saving & recalling programmed sequences or songs is core to EZDrummer2’s fundamental new features.

Regarding use of your alphanumeric kybd as a controller, you don’t mention whether you’re using a PC or a MAC.
Almost any MIDI controller is preferable to using the mouse as a trigger.

I can’t imagine that Steps 2-5 aren’t the same for both.

    In a word, “No”.

If you are going to install the demo on an iMac, you must download the MAC installer.
