Hi there, I’m a regular user of EZD3 in Pro Tools Studio (2022.9). Just create an Instrument track (stereo) and then on the Inserts for that track select Multichannel plugin and you should see EZ3 in the list. I’ve attached a JPEG for what it looks like in my setup

The Import MIDI File under the Track menu does that, as well as through BandMate

    Hope that helps

When you installed EZD3 did you install it as an AAX plugin? I am using latest 2022.6 version of ProTools, so I would also suggest update your Protools or contact AVID support if that does not work. Just to be sure also check you added the extra track as Stereo Instrument.

    Hope you solve this one

    Cheers

Hi there, just add a new Instrument track (stereo) in Pro Tools, on the plugins EZ Drummer3 should appear as an option. Select that and you’re away.

A screen dump of what it should look like attached.

    Best wishes

Hi, I’m still learning the new product myself, but my approach to your problem is (maybe there are better ways)

After loading the audio in Bandmate and EZD lists some candidate sounds, you can trim the loaded audio section and the drum sounds to get the section you want to work on (eg. 8 bar chorus, 8 bar bridge etc) to choose a best option. Then right click on the MIDI selection and “Select containing folders in grooves”. Then you get grooves in the same family that have compatible options for Bridge, verse, fills etc to experiment with. Very clunky indeed.

Interested to hear how others are doing this.

Hi, I’d also like to be able to add an audio track from my DAW (ProTools) (with the drums stripped out) and then audition a range of drum patterns in EZDrummer against that audio track  to create the best drum track I possibly can.
