Oops, turns out I can’t edit the post. Weird… For anyone using this, check Ulf’s tip above.
In short, if you use the script with SD3 go to the settings and set the drum mapping to default or you won’t hear the hi-hat.
Hey Ulf, I’m glad you found this useful! I had that same problem with the SD3 mapping just a few days ago, so I’m going to add it to the instructions. Thanks for the tip!
Yup, I’m working on the template but I still haven’t finished. BTW, I had no idea about the circle thing in Logic’s channels being a button. Always learning…
Thanks!
Hello guys. Thanks for your help.
Jord, you were right! I was messing with multi output and happened to have Out 1/2 muted.
Thanks once again!
Miguel
Hello Jord. I was trying the technique you mentioned in Logic in a previous answer:
“You can create aux tracks in Logic’s mixer and set their input to the instrument output channels. As well, you can set them to the left or the right stereo channel which will make it a mono channel.”
I’m trying to create two mono auxes in Logic to receive the left and right Overheads from SD3 in separate channels. However, even If I make the auxes in Logic mono by clicking on the header, when I try to choose an individual output from SD3 all I get are the stereo outputs (Supe 3-4, Supe 5-6, etc), there aren’t any choices like Supe-3, so I can’t find a way to route, say, the left overhead to a mono aux in Logic and the right overhead to another.
Maybe I misunderstood your answer, but I got the idea that you said this is possible?
Thanks,
Miguel Barrosa

Thanked by: M1024Hello. A few videos I watched:
A few questions I still had afterwards were answered by Jord on this thread.

Thanked by: David ScottHello Jord, thank you very much.
So, if I understood correctly, even if in SD3 the channel is mono, it will be sent to Logic as a stereo signal, in which I assume, both sides will be the same, right?
About the mono aux channels in Logic, how do I create them? Is it a regular aux? How then would I assign it to a SD3 output? Because I don’t know of any other way to create channels in Logic to receive audio from a multi output instrument, other than the ‘+’ button technique.
Also, do you know why the snare bottom channel is stereo in SD3?
I apologize having so many questions, and let me thank you for all your readiness to help people all the time in this forum.
Stay safe,
Miguel Barrosa
Hello there.
I tried your suggestion before coming up with the mapping. I just felt that the Drummer grooves didn’t translate very well, especially regarding the hi-hat. So I tried the mapping thing. Maybe you’re right and I’m being too picky, I don’t know, but I’m hardly the first person to try it. There are a few user scripts floating around for the same purpose, some much more sophisticated, where you can select between SD, or Slate Drums, Addictive Drums, etc.
The main thing, I think, is the Articulation ID’s that Drummer uses. I’m not sure if the Toontrack provided mapping has those in account. Maybe it has, as I said, I’m still just experimenting. This way it just moves the mapping to Logic and you don’t have to mess with SD’s mapping, just a different way, I guess…
Anyway, maybe it’s useless, but I’ll leave around in case anybody cares.
Thanks for the input!

Thanked by: Ulf StrandbergHello Jorg,
I agree the language is excessive, should have used something else instead of the word “stupid”. “Draconian” would be a better word, I guess. The thing is Toontrack not providing a demo, I can understand due to piracy, but what harm can come to them by letting potential customers browse the forums?
Same thing with manuals, I don’t understood why they are not kept online for everyone to read. Sometimes they contain some very specific information that lets a potential customer decide on a purchase.
Let me just point out that I’m not the first person to criticise this option, I’ve read other people’s complaints.
I was lucky that a Logicprohelp user was kind enough o render to audio for me a few Drummer patterns for me to test, but maybe being able to read the forums could have been enough for me to deciding on my purchase.
Anyway, I’ve since bought SD3 and I’m getting started with it, and so far I’m very happy about the purchase.
I just wish Toontrack had made it easier…
Regards
Miguel
