I assume you’re using the UM-One because there’s no USB on the TD-20?    My Roland kit is the TD-17 so I go with the USB which is pretty much plug and play.  However, I have an old Yamaha keyboard with no USB and I use the UM-One with that.  Two pieces of advice:

    1. Make sure you have the cables connected properly.  It is not completely intuitive.  ‘In’ and ‘Out’ can be confusing — ‘In’ meaning into computer or into device?  Double check.
    2. Make sure you go direct into the computer with the other end.  I tried running it into a USB hub and it didn’t work properly and sometimes not at all.  Running it straight into the Mac solved the problem.

    Good luck.

    Here’s how I do it:

    1. Create a software instrument track in Logic
    2. Make SD3 the virtual instrument on that track
    3. Open SD3 and search for or create a groove
    4. Click on the groove and drag it onto the Logic track
