    Hi John,

I found the Cache setting and disabled it so now, it’s working as it should.  I’m not sure how the cache was enabled, since I haven’t touched that feature in the past 5 years but I’m just happy it’s resolved.  Thanks again!

Now, I do have another serious issue at hand.  If I Arm or turn on the “Sound” on  a MIDI track that is connected to Superior 3 In Cubase 11 and 12 Pro (Both had the same exact results), the Performance Meter in Cubase goes crazy, from like 12% to 60%.  It does not happen with any other software (NI, Arturia and so on).  I’ve attached photos below.

    1. Nothing armed. Performance Meter at around 10-12%

    2. NI Komplete 6 armed with 8 instruments.  Performance Meter same as above

    3. NI not armed. Superior armed.  Performance Meter goes crazy.  I captured it at right around 50% but I’d need to do a video to show just how high the meter goes when Superior is armed.

    Thanks again!

    Mike

    Hi John,

Thank you for the quick reply.  I had it set to Force Cache Mode because it says that “Cache mode will be activated each time SD3 is started and when projects are loaded”.  I thought that was the correct setting.  But if I switch to Project Specific, the definition does not change.  I’ve attached two photos below.

Also, where is the Memory Drop Down?  I cannot find it.   Thanks again!

    Best,

    Mike

Well, for starters, it should be mentioned on the product page that Reverb is included in many of the samples and it cannot be turned off or muted.

Had that been listed on your website or Sweetwater’s website, where I purchased the EZX, it would have not only saved me time, I wouldn’t have spent $79 dollars plus tax for a sample library that doesn’t fit my needs or criteria.

    Hi Scott,

I realize what it was designed for, which is why I purchased it.  But slathering the snare and toms in reverb isn’t helpful when you’re composing and producing Promos and Trailers, especially when endings need to be dry, or stems need to be delivered and so on.  I literally have no control over those samples, which makes them worthless to me.

Thanks, Scott.  I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been a HUGE fan of Toontrack until this purchase but I will be very hesitant to purchase any new kits in the future.

I’m still absolutely floored that Toontrack created a scoring kit yet doused all of the samples in either reverb or room mics.  Not one reviewer said that the reverb was built-in to the samples.  I’m just floored and at a loss for words as to the short-sightedness of this EZX.

Also, I have no idea why you guys can’t see the screenshot because I can see it clearly on my iPad and my PC.  Super strange.

Well, this is a bummer.  Had I known that reverb was built into these samples (which is why I asked how I could turn it off) I wouldn’t have purchased this EXZ because I want to use Lexicon & TC VSS3 reverbs as I see fit.

Am I able to return or re-sell this product?  I own more than 75 of your products and this is the first time I’ve come across a kit that had built-in reverb. This product is just not going to work for me, at all and I’m really bummed out over this purchase now.

    Hi John,

It’s odd that you can’t see the jpg of the Mixer Window in Superior 3 because I can see it clearly in my last post.  I’ve attached it again below and linked it to a different source.

As for your question, I’m not using any preset kits and have never used a preset in more than 20 years since becoming a Toontrack user.  I pull up a kit, zero out absolutely everything and I create my own kits.  I’ve tried to do that with Action! but again, there is no Mixer Channel for Reverb and no effects are loaded into individual channels.

Hopefully, you’ll be able to see the jpeg.  Thanks for the assistance!

    Hi John,

I’ve attached a screenshot of Action! in the latest version of Superior 3 and I don’t see a channel for Reverb.  I tried muting FX but that didn’t mute the reverb.

    Hi John,

Thank you very much for the information.  This is a nice workaround to the X-Drum preset option in S2 but not nearly as “elegant”.   Loading 6+ instruments simultaneously would be much more helpful but thanks to this info, I’m no longer setting up multiple instruments, MIDI Note Numbers, routing, etc. for each external drum.

    Thanks again!

This is currently not added, but it’s an understandable request! We will look into it!

Thank you, Henrik, that would be fantastic!

There was an upgrade years ago when the SDX version was released. That was 7 years ago though.

I think that ride was only in C&V and only in the SDX version now.

Thanks for the reply but man, that’s a drag. I really don’t want to drop $149 for a ride cymbal. 🙁

Are you asking about the C&V SDX version or the original S1 version?

The ‘fix’ is for the SDX update. S1 libraries are not compatible with S3.

It appears that I have the “Original” version, as it’s listed under the Superior Line and not under the SDX Expansions.

Is there an upgrade for this pack? If not, do you know another library, EZX or SDX, in which there’s a McCartney Touring Ride? I’ve used it in hundreds of tracks and it’s just “the sound” I hear for certain genres.

    Thanks!

The original S1 libraries will not work in S3. If you are referring to the C&V SDX, then yes.

So, once the fix has been made, I’ll be able to access C&V in S3?

I’m glad to hear that an update will allow access to the original Toontrack Superior library, along with C&V and Vintage Add-on.
There are some absolutely phenomenal ride cymbals in C&V and I use them in every project.
    Thanks!
