What? How does that answer the problem? I want to use the tap2find function without a frickin’ metronome blasting my face off. I don’t want to point and shoot a beat into a grid like some sequencer jockey. Maybe you’ve gone totally paint by the numbers but I still like to PLAY my drums.
Boo! Can’t use toon track sounds as .wav files and yet you have no similarity search function in ezdrummer or superior drummer. So 5 minutes ago. Your software needs to join the 21st century. I have TONS of your products and I’d like to be able to search through sounds based on similarity and then build just the right kit for my song. But since you don’t provide sounds as .wav files, I can’t even use a product like XLN XO or SONONYM. Boo! again. What a disappointment Toontrack has been. Spent way too much on something that really isn’t very useful for producers and creatives. Unless you just want to lay down a robotrack.. that never seems to fit anything.
Can’t turn off the metronome? Or at least turn it down? RIDICULOUS. I know the beat I want but I want EZ Drummer to give me some variations. Can’t tap it in with the frickin metronome going since it sound like another hit just going off. Is it so hard just put in an on/off button? Just one more annoying thing about EZ Drummer. Not so EZ I guess…
Not having Bandmate in Superior is really dumb. I’m currently giving EZ Drummer 3 a trial run because I am specifically drawn to the Bandmate feature. It isn’t just useful as a “quick” way to get a beat for your song (whether for a “beginner” or more “advanced” user, or whatever that explanation above was about regarding different target audiences). It’s also about generating ideas. Sometimes you just want to throw your audio in and see what it comes up with. I like what I’m seeing in EZ Drummer 3, but from what I’ve seen/heard/researched of Superior, I’d rather buy Superior, for it’s flexibility, sounds, etc. And I’m one of those buyers that would rather get the higher end product first time around. (And yes, it’s obviously “higher end” if it’s $399 v $179 (again, –whatever that explainer was about from the moderator above…). BUT because EZD3 has bandmate, I’m going to get EZD3 instead of Superior. So Toontrack just lost a higher end sale for the simple stupid reason that Superior doesn’t have Bandmate. I wonder how many other sales they have lost because of that? So, they are either really dumb or they know this, and as some have suggested, they are playing a game, expecting buyers to buy in at $179 and then pay another $319 to crossgrade/upgarde when Superior gets Bandmate (if ever…). Either way, they are either being dumb or greedy. Not a good look.
