OK so for anyone interested I have heard back from support. It seems that tambourines and shakers for this particular EZX use something called “Future Hits” which if I understand correctly can only be edited in the SD3 midi editor or using “Edit Play Style”. Dragging and dropping this midi into a DAW doesn’t show the individual articulations and in this case they need to be controlled by changing the velocity from what I understand.

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanHi Martin,
Are you trying to attach a large file? We were able to reproduce the issue by attaching a 200MB video and we’ve reported the issue to our web development team. Please try sending the form without any attachments.
Hi Peter,
I was attaching an MP4 video but it was only 49.2 mb. In the meantime I will try sending in the support request without the attachment and send the link to the report I’ve just posted on Superior Drummer 3 forum.
UPDATE: I managed to send in the report without the MP4 video attachment so there must be a problem with attachments although mine was less than 200 MB.
Thanks,
Martin

Hi Scott,
I tried sending it twice yesterday and twice today with no luck. I’m in London UK. I will try a different browser.
Cheers,
Martin

So I’ve run into another problem. I’m using Superior Drummer 3 in my DAW – Sequoia 17 although the same thing happens in Nuendo 12 and SD3 stand-alone. I have a tambourine midi part playing back in SD3 and synchronising to the tempo in my DAW. So now I want to audition some other percussion parts for example cowbell. The problem is as soon as I audition the cowbell midi part the playback of the tambourine stops so I can’t hear the tambourine and the congas in context with the song. I made a video.

OK I found it. You need to use the command on the block tab “paste on selected groove”. I was trying standard copy and paste commands which didn’t work.
Thanks,
Martin

Ez Keys is really great for putting together keyboard parts and excels at that. But I have to agree that the small GUI is somewhat limiting and I was hoping it would be updated in a similar fashion that Superior Drummer was. I don’t know how many users EZ Keys has in comparison to Superior Drummer but it would certainly benefit from a scalable GUI. I had similar misgivings about Waves plug-ins in that they were pretty small but then they released V12 and they are all scalable now so they whether they had to re-engineer the GUI to do that I’ve no idea. Anyway here’s hoping to track come up with a solution in the not-too-distant future.

Martin

Thanked by: KenB123Hi John,
That seems to be working nicely, thank you. One other thing. Is it possible to have the mixer cymbal routing set as default in the mixer whenever opening up a drum kit? Or do I have to re-assign the close cymbal mics every time I open up a different drumkit? It would be nice if it was a default setting in the mixer. I notice in SSD4 whenever you load a drum kit the cymbals are automatically routed to their own mixer channels same with Addictive Drums.

Martin
