Yep, I’m all over this. The two examples on the site are really impressive, especially “THAT” sound.

Thanked by: Whagi^ also, make sure the bell articulations are turned on for the hats. Most of the libraries have them disabled by default.

Thanked by: Anthony CarpenterNot sure if it’s been mentioned by I’ve had better luck using the TD50x preset on my TD27. It certainly works better and brings the bell trigger into play. I had to play around with the mapping to get it working for the whole kit but it’s workaround until a fix could be brought in. Also, just for the record I tried the TD50x preset in EZD3 and the playing experience appears to be better than SD3 right now – the hi-hat seemed smoother or maybe it was just wishful thinking? give it a try.
I don’t have any recommendations but you can absolutely load up EZX libraries within SD3.
I’ve no experience with the Efnote but I do own the TD27 and can highly recommend it. I’ve been using it for over a year for remote sessions hand-in-hand with SD3 and it’s worked flawlessly. Obviously, there’s some dialing in to do and settings to tweak but once I was over that bump it’s been a great setup.

Thanked by: Cheuvart GeoffreyThe kits shown in the screenshots aren’t present in the SDX so they’re new. I know I’m going to be wanting a Hansa 2 SDX after hearing the new stuff – the original really is the Swiss Army knife of drum libraries.
Is the EZdrummer 3 sound library extracted from The Rooms of Hansa SDX? Having SD3, might be worth the cat for the EZ3 sound library, but if you already own The Rooms of Hansa SDX (as I do) it makes almost no sense to upgrade, I think.
Taking a look at the screenshots they’re kits not in the SDX so these are new recordings.
Good points from both. I didn’t even think about the eDrum aspect of it.
Spooky that the Gretsch kit on the webpage seems very much like Taylor’s setup.
Is anyone else concerned about the future of SD after today’s announcement? A few of Superior’s killer features (MIDI editor being the standout) have made the jump over so I’m not sure what SD4 can bring to the table. I guess we’ll see. Excited to be getting some more Hansa drums for the library!
Try the singer songwriter ezx for the quiet stuff. The kits have a very warm and fluffy sound.
There’s a lot of factors in play here but the first thing I’d check is the file format of the drive the library is sitting on… can you see it in the file explorer? I did have to download everything again when I made the reverse switch and I think it may have been for this reason.
Absolutely it does. In fact, I was stuck on a client project last week and the default kit dropped straight in after trying a ton of different sounds. Don’t get caught up on whether it’s up to scratch to the newer SDX – if the sounds are right for whatever you’re working on then it’s of value. It has a beautiful warm, fluffy tone to it that works so well.
I’ve been using a focusrite scarlet 2i2 for the past year, first on a PC and then on a Mac. Latency was improved incredibly when I first started using an interface on windows after using the regular onboard audio stuff. Not sure if the Alesis has usb midi out as this interface doesn’t have regular midi inputs but anything around this price point will be an improvement over what you have. You don’t have to break the bank to see a performance improvement.
That was fixed in the last update so make sure you have the latest version.
