Create a sound pack for Yamaha Recording Custom drums

I use Superior Drummer and EZ Drummer for most of my songwriting tracks. A tool for sure. I find that the drum kits are abundant for Metal music, but for an overall GREAT drum sound, that’s been used on countless records, is the Yamaha Recording Custom drum kit. For whatever reason, this iconic kit has not been made into or integrated into a sound pack? PLEASE consider creating a sound pack featuring these great sounding drums. It would be nice to have a good assortment of Paiste cymbals and some LP Percussion cowbells. This would cover a wide range of music genres. Considering it’s the kit that Steve Gadd, David Garibaldi, Carter Beauford, and many more A-list drummers use, it would be a very important addition to the Toontrack library.

Scott, two of the packs you mention are Metal packs and The Classic is a limited version of the Yamaha Custom Recording kit. You offer many packs that feature almost all one brand of kit, like Ludwig. What I’m asking for is a pack that would feature mainly the Yamaha Custom Recording kits for use as the ultimate “pro session player” tool. Like MANY songwriters, I don’t specialize in the Metal genre. I would love to have a pack from you that can come close to the sound of some of the most iconic session players who play Yamaha Custom Recording drums like Steve Gadd, David Garibaldi, Carter Beaufort, Dave Weckl, Thierry Arpino, Antonio Sanchez, to name just a few. It really would be the ultimate “pro session player” kit and sound.

Modern Metal EZX also has a 9000 in the library.

edit: yep, I know its another metal pack but using the basic or original mix gives you a good starting point.  Just because it’s labelled metal doesn’t mean it can’t be used in a different genre. A well recorded drum is just that.

Revisiting this if anyone has built a Carter Beauford-like preset with the included kit, where there is a Yamaha Custom + a fair amount of cymbals he uses. I’m trying to build something. Might require a second kit just for cymbals.

Would be interested in what your Yamaha Custom kit build looks like. Please follow up when you get there. Would be nice if Toontrack would offer a Yamaha Custom kit with all of the various snares and kicks, especially the signature ones by David Garibaldi, Carter Beauford, Steve Gadd, etc. I know they have limited versions of the Yamaha Custom drums in various packs, but a dedicated Yamaha Custom drum pack would be so useful. It’s the most recorded studio drum set in music today.

just a heads up that the new Hitmaker SDX has two 9000 kits in there (regular and concert toms). It might be a good place to start.
