The stock TD27 preset doesn’t give you the full functionality of the VH14 – the bell articulations are the main thing missing and you have to go to the TD50x preset to get it working correctly. While the workaround is fine I agree it would be nice to be able to just use the TD27 preset.

    Metal Machinery has a 22” A Ping.

Also, love that album! One of my favourite live sets. Mel Gaynor is a beast!

Can confirm. The velocity was set very low but when bounced out it sounds like they’re being hit with a sledgehammer. Not exactly the subtle effect I was going for 😂 It’s hit and miss though.

I haven’t had a chance to play around with it much as most of last night was spent downloading and installing it! 160GB! apologies to anyone in Philly who wanted Internet last night 🙂

So far I can see this getting a lot of use. There’s a big difference between the kits (more so than the last SDX) so finding a sound isn’t going to be difficult but the seller for me is the percussion library. I’ve always liked being able to add percussion to tracks from the same “room” to keep things organic and this is a little more than just a few shakers and tambourines. Kit highlights for me are the main DW kit but the star is the Gretsch… that absolutely sings. All IMO 🙂

Not sure off the top of my head but in SD3 using the TD50x preset works with the TD27 for the hats. Is there a TD50x preset in EZD3?

This has been an issue for a few years now. I get the same deal with the TD27 and VH-14 (and the original VH-10). They’re aware but no fix yet.

Try changing the level referenced in this link up to 127. I recall this being mentioned recently but I’m not sure about the waiting message.

Apologies for jumping in this, but I thought it was better than starting a new thread.

I want to make sure I’m on the same page here. So, I’m working with a client who wants MIDI but isn’t using SD or EZD. I was going to send the MIDI file with the note info provided with the library, BUT I’ve been using a custom preset for my kit. For the client to get the correct info, I need to disable the preset before exporting, right?

That’s a ghost note after that fourth snare hit. If you’re programming, throw a 16th note in there after that snare hit and move the velocity down.

Either a rug or carpet will help. I have the Roland rug, and with the KD-10 kick, it doesn’t move as the velcro underneath makes sure it doesn’t budge. I’ve a heavy foot, and it’s never moved once.

This has been a problem from day one for me with the same setup. I’ve made them aware, FWIW.

just a heads up that the new Hitmaker SDX has two 9000 kits in there (regular and concert toms). It might be a good place to start.
