good. the RE-Scan feature should fix that. seems silly to have to open the program then shut it down every thyme. 😉

actually, when i view the MIDI window in AMS, not just the audio screen, the keyboard is in there.

the keyboard, does not show up in audio midi settings, the presonus does. well, the keyboard could show up. in AMS i have “presonus firebox”; “built-in microphone”; “built-in input”; “built-in output” keep in mind this is WHILE the keyboard is on AND playing the SAP (which is to say YES to your last question).

    1) keyboard plugged in iMac
    2) to get the keyboard to show up in EZKEYS MIDI settings, i must turn on hardware (keyboard), open the Stand ALone PLayer (SAP) , turn on interface, close SAP and re-open it. If the SAP is open and both hard-wares are powered, only the interface will show up – after a minute.
3)no, only the keyboard is in the FW port.

see above. typically speaking, i would always plug in the monitors/firebox first. which is why i could not get EZKEYS to recognize my keyboard. Only when done via the way above, in that exact order, does it yield the result i need in stand-alone mode.

okay, so after some tinkering, here is something i found out.

if i turn on my keyboard and open EZKEYS WITHOUT turning on my presonus firebox, i can use the keyboard through the built-in speakers. But, if i want to use my monitors, which require me to use the Presonus firebox, i must 1)plug in keyboard 2) open EZKEYS 3) Plug in Firebox 4) shut down EZKEYS 5) Open EZKeys. 6) change MIDI settings… any other method will not yield success.

    My bad.
In Stand Alone mode my keyboard will not be recognized in the MIDI input section of EZKeys. Logic pro recognizes my keyboard.

i think i agree with what everyone is saying…if they are saying that EZ KEYS users should be able to record their own MIDI patterns (verse, chorus, per-chorus, etc), then use the chord wheel to transpose those user define chords. i am not a pianist to save my life, so a function like that would save me DAYS.
An Arp function would be awesome as well.
