Hello,
I actually went through something similar a few years back when I switched from PC to Mac for EZdrummer, I had never used GarageBand previously as well. Anyhow, a lot of trial and error and it was pretty simple.
When creating a new project, it will have you choose your desired track, choose “Software Instrument.” (It should be the green option.)
Further under the track you’ve just created should be an option “Plug-ins” that already has “E-Piano” chosen, click “E-Piano.”
This is a path you could use to find your plug-in:
AU Instruments > Toontrack > EZdrummer > Stereo
