Henrik, I have another problem.
Please load Andy Sneap Kit 3 or Kit 4…then play a midi…view the hidden mixer channels…there’s Amb Ribbon. It is off…then solo it…I still hear the bassdrum and snare drum anthough they are OFF. No bleed is selected either…where are they coming from?
Now I’ve muted everything…seems the REVERB is what causes the sound. But how can a reverb produce sound if the kit piece itself is muted? I don’t understand this. Looks like a bug!

ZIP with all crashes. Some of them were created in a loop.

Another crash. It’s getting frustrating! Imported a midi file, click to edit the pattern, crash, resulting in a loop of error messages.
Has the dump file only the last error or all of them? Looking forward to hearing from you!

Wanted to set a midi number for sticks in SD3. Crashed again! π Good I save after every five minutes. Otherwise I would have lost my work of the last 2 hours. π
Seems additional instruments like sticks, shaker, tambourine are broken!

Thank you! Makes sense. π It adds bleed to other channels though, even if they are hidden in the mixer…so you have to be careful and look everywhere for changes.

Thank you! This makes sense! Having as many bleed mics as SD3 does is better though…so it’s better to use SD3 only and say bye to Metal Foundry?

Thanks, will try that!
Three other questions:
1) What is “invert phase” in the mixer? Some presets use it and I don’t have a clue what it does.
2) Can you recreate a Superior Drummer 3 Core preset (for example Andy Sneap – Kit 4) in SD3 – Metal Foundry? Can I add the same SD3 kick drum Andy Sneap uses in his SD3 core preset, then the stacked kick drum, then use the same mixer settings and it will sound alike?
Do I have to create all effects, reverb, EQ etc. one by one or is there a way to export SD3 settings and import them in SD3 – Metal Foundry?
My problem is that Andy Sneap’s SD3 kits sound better than all Metal Foundry presets but Metal Foundry has better visuals…I simply want a normal looking kit with two kick drums and a lot of cymbals. π
I just don’t like importing them to SD3 and they just hang around on the left side of the screen unattached to any virtual kit. π
3) Why are the cymbals prepanned? Cymbals on the left are panned to the left whereas cymbals on the right are panned to the right…I want to use a cymbal sound that can only be applied to a right cymbal BUT use it for the left ear. You can change panning for toms but cymbals seem to be prepanned?

Thanks! I know bottom right corner scaling but it only sets what I see…window too big -> light grey background added…too small -> VST disappears.
Scaling is nice, found it. π 100% is a bit too small but 150% is too big…can we use something in between, e.g. 120%?

Yes, I know. The thing is that while sound is most imporant it would be nice to change the appearance too. Metal Foundry, Machine etc. all have two kick drums and I’d expect from a good (and not cheap) VST that you could have two kick drums visually. MF has so many kit pieces on screen and I just would like to have them in SD3 too…by just loading SD3, loading an Andy Sneap preset and then adding them.

Go to your audio library of SD3, then go to the SL-SuperiorDrummer3GraphicsV3 folder. The file background.png is the background image for the whole drum room. The latest update for MetalFoundry also has that file…I don’t want to use the default MF image because I don’t like the logo…so I just replaced the MetalFoundry background with the standard SD3 background. Now every MF kit has background “SD3 Core” background.
The GraphicsV3 folder has pngs for all kit pieces. Haven’t tried it yet but I am pretty sure you can edit them, replace colors, add your own band logo to the kickdrum etc.

The good thing is that SD3 and Metal Foundry have PNG backgrounds and graphics for kit pieces. I don’t like the Metal Foundry logo so I just replaced it with SD3 background π
You can also edit a bassdrum graphic and add your band logo. π
