Wow. Ok. I found this 3YO thread with a Google search lol.

I bought EZD2 yesterday mainly because I wanted a better drum program than the one that came bundled with my DAW software (Samplitude). It was considered a good choice by some of their forum users so that’s how I got here. I installed it and the first thing I tried to do, the very first thing, was setup some tempo and time sig changes in a sample test project. I was perplexed when EZD2 matched the tempo changes perfectly but not any of the time signatures. Just sort of plowed right on by ’em. I thought well… just part of the learning curve. I’ve only had the program for like 5 minutes. I’m sure it’s just a mouse click somewhere lol

Nope. After about an hour of futzing, I finally gave up. Then I did a search for answers and got here. I even posted something on my Facebook page hoping a fellow EZD2 user could help. It just seemed to be a confusing mess. Nothing so far from the guys at Magix either. I feel like I’ve been speaking Greek trying to explain it. lol

Here’s a sort of odd thing about this:

Samplitude has it’s own built-in metronome feature (I assume all DAWs have something duh). There are two basic methods to generate a click track in Samplitude: 1) using plain audio or 2) using MIDI. Plain audio just pulls up small WAV files and “plays” them according to the system timing reference. I have a library of click sounds so it’s easy to find something specific for a client. You can actually generate a complete click track audio clip/object using those sounds in Samplitude. The MIDI method plays audio from the internal system soundcard (or, I assume, an external sequencer of some sort if you have the drivers loaded). Now… the audio method doesn’t recognize time sig changes either. But the MIDI method does! It works perfectly. Just like you’d expect. It seems to me that Samplitude must be sending something to the system soundcard so it can make those time sig changes If it can do that, why can’t it send the same information to EZD2? So I’m adding my voice to this chorus. What’s the dealio? lol
