Hi,
my colleague made me observant on the fact that there are note pressure messages on all Cymbal notes in your song, which translates to Choke All in our plug-ins.
You need to go to the ‘Note Controller’ lane in the editor, make sure that ‘Type’ is set to ‘Pressure’, lasso select all Cymbal notes and then drag/trim the Pressure value down to ‘0’.

Hi,
this is still not a Support part of the Forum and the advice above from section2 is bad advice. Users that need help should post in the Help section.

Hi,
real-time triggering of SD3 from your acoustic kit is possible but not without audio-to-midi conversion hardware.
An example (but not an endorsement) would be the DDrum Acoustic Pro Trigger set which is compatible with most drum modules; which you would also need one, preferably one which can be connected directly to your PC via USB-C as its own MIDI interface.
Next, your PC needs to be powerful enough for you to have as small buffer sizes as possible with the Scarlett interface, so you won’t experience latency.
If you were thinking about the included Tracker in SD3, it’s for working with audio files, not real-time conversion.

John

Thanked by: ozguryasarOK,
some strange is going on in Studio One but I can’t figure out exactly what (at least yet).
When you start the Song and pay attention to what’s happening exactly at Bar 6, you see that something is sent to the EZD3 plug-in from the Track but it isn’t CC4, CC16 or CC18 (which all have lanes in the editor) since you can delete all that data and something is still sent to the plugin.
If I record the MIDI on the Studio One Track to the Song Track in the EZD3 plug-in, I get ‘Choke’ notes on Bar 6 for the Cymbals, some as long as the entire Song. Please see attached Screen Shot:
As you also can see, there’s a mysterious data line running throughout the song in the Studio One Track.
What I did with the recorded MIDI in EZD3, was to remove all the ‘Choke’ notes for the Ride and Crash Cymbals, then I dragged the MIDI back to the Studio One track, starting at Bar 6 again, replacing the previous MIDI on the Track.
I will try to investigate further but my suggestion now is to use this workaround and check with the Presonus Support if they have any clue.

John

will check. BTW, which Preset are you using in EZD3?

Yes I listened to them. I’ve only just bought EZ drummer and I’m flabbergasted there is no damping or decay parameter. It’s absolutely essential. Imagine if you asked a drummer in real life to damp his toms or snare and he said, “Sorry, that’s not possible!”
I am shocked and will be getting a refund. Probably.
It’s a shame because I think the sounds are great and the interface is really nice.

Hi,
it is “EZdrummer” after all, its bigger brother Superior Drummer 3 lets you tweak envelopes even per articulation, among many things.

Thanked by: dahinshi2.0.0Hi,
would it be possible for you to ZIP archive the project (without any audio files) and attach to a post here?

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanHi,
does it help increasing the sensitivity for the Rim in the Module? If you record the MIDI, does the velocity on the recorded MIDI reflect what you hear, i.e. very low?
Perhaps not a reply you wish to have but EZdrummer 3’s bigger brother Superior Drummer 3 lets you have separate velocity curves and volume for individual articulations.

John
