Engagement Photography Packages Engagement Photography Packages encompasses everything from furtively snapped pictures of the actual proposal (bended knee and all) to artful couple portraits. The photos can be used as wedding favors, printed on save-the-date cards, or displayed at the bridal shower and engagement party. But it's important to book the sessions well in advance so that you have time to incorporate them into your wedding stationery. Engagement Session The engagement session is the perfect way for your clients to get comfortable in front of the camera before their big day. It also gives your client the opportunity to learn prompts from their photographer, which will help them feel natural and relaxed on their wedding day. The session is an opportunity for your couple to take time to celebrate their love, while creating beautiful images that will be cherished forever. It is important that your couple choose a location that is meaningful to them or an activity they enjoy doing together. This will ensure that their photos are authentic and truly represent them as a couple. It is also a good idea for your clients to do their hair and makeup trial at their engagement session, which will give them the chance to see how it photographs. You can also design wall art mock-ups for them (I use Fundy Designer), which will give them an idea of how their photos will look on their walls once they are finished. Pre-Wedding Session The pre-wedding session is a fun way to help your clients get comfortable in front of the camera and helps them learn what it’s like to have their photographer following them around for hours on end. Couples who are comfortable with their photographer will be much more at ease on their wedding day, knowing what to expect and how to work together to create beautiful images. Many photographers offer the option of adding a pre-wedding shoot to their engagement packages. This is a great opportunity to showcase your creativity and tell a story about the relationship between two people who are about to build their lives together. These sessions can be more complex than an engagement photo shoot, and most photographers will work closely with their clients to plan a narrative for the session. They are also usually more expensive, as they may include additional locations and outfits. Often, they will also include printing rights and larger files. Wedding Day Most photographers offer engagement sessions as part of one or all of their wedding photography packages. This allows couples to get to know the photographer and their style before they book the big day. It also gives them the chance to see if they truly fall in love with the photographer, making it more likely that they will book them again for their wedding. Depending on the location, number of photos included, format of deliverables (digital only versus printed) and additional add-ons, the cost will vary. Some photographers will allow clients to change outfits as many times as they would like during the session, while others will require a minimum of two different outfits. Most engagement photos are delivered as digital files, but some photographers will include a few prints in their package pricing as well. Prints are great for adding to your save the dates, wedding invitations or as gifts for your friends and family members. Post-Wedding Session A post-wedding session is a great way for couples to feel enchanting in their wedding attire again, without the stress of their big day. It also gives them a chance to work out any kinks with their photographer and build up a deeper relationship with them. Most photographers offer between one and three locations, but some charge extra for studio sessions or if you want to add on a second shooter. You should make a list of all the digital photos you want to receive at the end of your session, and make sure that the photographer can meet those requirements. Make a note of any places you want to avoid, and choose weather-appropriate clothing. If you are planning an outdoor session, plan for a backup indoor location in case of bad weather. Most photographers allow up to two outfit changes and provide a password-protected online gallery for viewing. Some also include a DVD disc with high-resolution images and printing rights.
