If you want MIDI notes from Studio One into EZbass, the easiest way is to:

    • add the MIDI on the EZbass track in Studio One
    • record arm EZbass
    • press play in the DAW
    • Now the notes will be recorded into the song track of EZbass
    • Remove the MIDI from the EZbass track in Studio One
      • so there isn’t MIDI in both in the DAW and EZbass song track

    Operating system: macOS Catalina (10.15)

The same: Do you get any dmp file? If so, please zip it and attach it here.

No worries, this happens to many users 🙂 We have added a safety net here: if you play the same MIDI simultaneously in the DAW as on the song track of EZbass – Follow Host is automatically disabled, so only the DAW is playing the MIDI.

Perhaps the MIDI you accidentally played in the DAW wasn’t the exact same as in EZbass?

Hm, that’s strange. What DAW are you using to record the MIDI files you attached? It might have something to do with the DAW cleaning up the MIDI somehow.

Is it the same if you record straight into EZbass in the DAW vs. standalone?

Hi Erik. I just tried again to grab the arrow cursor and it really seems to be a single pixel. As I move very slowly horizontally, the arrow appears and then immediately  disappears. This happens regardless of the view scale setting.

Well, that’s not how it’s supposed to be 🙂
Are you using EZbass in a DAW (Cubase or similar) or as a standalone?

Is it the same when you restart the DAW/EZbass?

I am struggling to get my mouse on the left side of an event to invoke the arrow to (drag and) extend the length of the event.  It seems like you have to get the mouse over an area that is just 1 pixel wide!

The range is 5 px. Can you double check that this is the range you get? Move the mouse cursor slowly (horizontally) and count the steps that the mouse cursor does, before turning in to the pointer again.

If the scale of the software has been changed, this can affect the operation range for different tools.

I do like the right click “Cubase” shortcut system for the tool pointers. No need to use another hand for the keyboard that way. I’m a guitarist so I always have my left hand on the neck!

I have heard this request before, and I understand since I too sometimes have a guitar in my lap while using my DAW 🙂

I’ll take a note of this!

I tried some files, Mid Shuffle 112 > Hats Closed 04 for example, but it played as it was supposed to. Can you name a drum groove that doesn’t get translated well in EZbass Drums & Keyes?

Hello again, and sorry for the late answer!

If I add the MIDI to Logic, and record it into EZbass, it’s recorded correctly (see screenshot of EZbass vs Logic MIDI)

The MIDI file you attached was MIDI 1 type file, which contained both drums and bass MIDI. Can that have something to do with it?

What is it that you want to accomplish? To be able to jump the playhead backwards or forward like a bar at a time? Or to get the playhead to directly jump to a determined position?

We need to know this to be able to make the correct design decisions 🙂 Thanks for the input!
