You can do any of the following:

    • press the up or down arrow on the instrument selection menu (above the drum kit)

    or

    • Select the instrument, right click it and select “Search for Instrument…”
      • In there you can go up or down using the arrows in the bottom left corner of the Search for Instrument window
        • Or go up/down by using the keyboard keys
      • You can also enable “auto load”, which will load the selected snare, instead of just previewing it

Those files might come from the folder Mega Pack EZdrummer 2.

Can you try to remove that and see if the non working files are gone?

Add the MIDI folder back again after, and see if the non working files still are gone.

This can be handled from Menu/Settings/MIDI Libraries

“Free Up Disc Space” deletes the downloaded files. If you have installed the downloaded products, they aren’t necessary.

You may want to keep them if you want to avoid downloading the products in the future, if you want to install the products again (after a computer re-install for example), but you can always download the products again if you want to.

Are you using the latest version of EZkeys? (best checked using the Product Manager)

Does this happen when you just play, or when you record the MIDI?

Is it a difference if you use EZkeys standalone vs. loading it in a DAW?

You can enable the metronome in Reaper, but still record the MIDI to the track of EZdrummer 2!

It means that the file isn’t in sync of where it is on the hard drive vs. the EZdrummer 2 database.

Go to Menu/Advanced/ and rebuild the MIDI database to get it sync, which should fix the problem!

There will be new MIDI Libraries added (in the leftmost column) for each new pack you buy/install.

In your screenshot, only BD is in the group track SD3. SN, HH, Toms, and OH are outside the Track Stack. You can drag those tracks to the SD3 Track Stack if you want them all to be gathered in there. The same goes for the Latin Track Stack.

To use 2 instances of SD3 to have 2 libraries is a fine way to use it, especially if you use lots of instruments from both libraries, and wants to use the presets for the two libraries. On the other hand, if you want to use a just one or a couple of instruments from Latin in SD3 Core Library, you can add those instruments as New Instruments, to make everything gathered in one instance of SD3.

Regarding soloing and muting individual MIDI tracks for a virtual instrument: when you solo one MIDI track, it will solo the instrument – in this case SD3. So it doesn’t matter if you solo the SD, HH, or any other track  – they all solo/mute the same instrument. You can, however, solo and mute individual MIDI blocks. For example, select a MIDI block in the HH track and solo that (not the entire channel), and only that will be auditioned. Selecting the MIDI block and then pressing the keyboard key “S” may be the shortcut for this, but it depends on what shortcuts and what language you have in Logic.

Are you using EZdrummer 1 or 2?

If 2; Do you have the MIDI on the song track of EZdrummer 2, or in a DAW?

There can be 2 things that differ when you click on the EZdrummer 2 interface vs. clicking the piano roll in Pro Tools:

    • The velocity.
    • The articulation. When you click the interface, the default articulation for the instrument will be previewed, and when you click in the Grid Editor of Pro Tools, each note will play a certain articulation, so this can cause the changes in audio.
      • The snare, for example, will have Center as the default articulation.

To solve this, we need to pinpoint where the pitching comes from, so to add to Scott’s questions above:

    • If you disconnect your MIDI controller and create a new MIDI block in Logic, and add notes and play that – does the same pitch behaviour occur?
