Press Shift key while scrolling, to make it change in smaller increments! Shift also works when you click + drag to change controller values.

Check (in the order as listed below) that:

    • the target cymbal has a Choke articulation
    • the Choke articulation is enabled
    • the Choke articulation has a MIDI note assigned to it

Besides what Patrik wrote: the red dot on your User MIDI folder means that you should sync SD3 and the folder. It’s often because files and folders have been manually edited in Finder.

Click on the red dot and select Sync in the menu to fix it.

The right click menu is designed to be a quick menu without many options. All the options to personalize, order, etc., the lists is designed in the Search for Instrument area. Right click the snare and select Search for Instrument, or press alt + R to open it. In there, you can favorite mark your favorite snares and (clicking the start on the snare’s row). By clicking the star in the header row, you’ll only list your favorites.

If you click on the instrument menu list below the Sound Recognition header, you’ll see what instrument the current track is triggering. In there, you can change what instrument, and articulation, to play on triggered notes.

The general design of the tracker is that the the upper area is handling the source audio, and the bottom area is handling the triggered Superior Drummer 3 sounds.

    Here’s a thread from a Reaper forum: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=206907

Here’s a youtube video showing routing of Superior Drummer 2 in Reaper. Superior Drummer 2 and 3 have very similar multi out functionality, so the things that are said in the video can be applied to SD3!

Right click the Volume control on the Phaser effect and select Bind to CC. Select the first available value in the list, but you can select any.

Now when you go into the Grid Editor, and press the drop down (left of the curve edit area), you’ll have the CC that controls the Phazer Volume in that list.

Select it and edit the curve.

Side note – it’s often better to automate effects by changing their Mix volume, any other control that changes their effect on the audio, or bypassing them, instead of turning on/off, since the latter can cause some audio glitches, latency issues etc. This is a general tip and doesn’t only apply to SD3!

I assume you are using the latest version of SD3 – v 3.1.2?

Can you export the problematic MIDI from Logic and post it here so we can have a look at it?

Have you selected Roland TD-11 in the presets list?

When you close the pedal, what does the Analyzer say, in the bottom left corner of the MIDI In Settings page? It should say what CC you hi-hat is using, when your open and close it.

You should have a look at some tutorial videos if you’re not sure about how EZdrummer behaves in a DAW.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp_DbPXTIxw – this one with Garageband, but the workflow is the same as in Logic.

You are correct that you can’t edit individual hits in Edit Play Style (EPS). EPS is designed to change the play style with broad changes, like “add more of that instrument” and “change power hand to that instrument”.  If you want to add specific hits to certain places on the time line, this is best done in the grid editor in your DAW!

Do you run SD3 in FL, or as a standalone? If you run in in FL, you can record enable SD3 and put FL in the mode where it starts to record when MIDI notes are received. This should make SD3 start it’s recording at the same time as FL.
