You should reinstall the software (but you don’t have to reinstall the entire sound library!)

See my screenshot in post https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/only-electronic-kit-graphics-showing-when-changing-kits/#post-2117747. It will show you where to do this using Product Manager.

In the Drums tab, go to More menu and select Route Instrument Microphones.

You can also right click an instrument, and select Route Instrument Microphones.

If you disable Use Alternate Hits in the box Hit Variation (on the right side in the Drums Tab) for the kicks, they will behave like 2 individual instruments, rather than a group.

It will work! The biggest difference if you have a faster disk (SSD for example) is that the kits will load faster.

The diminished 7th chord is made by having a root note, and having the rest of the notes with minor intervals. E.g., a C dim7 will be C–E♭–G♭–B♭♭

When you raise the 7th from that, it can also be written as a minor based on the second note in that interval (D# in the case of C dim7). In lots of cases, played keys can be described as many different chords, and we have made choices to only write one…

If you use the keyboard shortcut space, or control the playback from a DAW while having the Chord Wheel open, it will stay open. Is this an option for you?

To select all grooves on the song track, do any of the following:

    • make a left click and drag selection around the grooves
    • right click on an empty part of the song track and select Select All
    • Use keyboard shortcut
      • Alt + A (Mac)
      • Ctrl + A (PC)
    • Select the first grooves, then shift + click the last block

When you have done this you can move all the blocks as you want to.

Remember to also move any Tempo and Time Signature changes, if you have any of those.

This is most likely because some mixer channels have their volume set to nothing.

I may have been wrong here, what I explained has happened with some other presets, like the Bob Rock presets.

…but why would it silence the sound of a cymbal from it’s own expansion?

    • Hmm. So if you load, for example, the 10″ Zildjian EAK Splash from the SD3 core library on the Cymbal 1 position, having Andy Sneap Kit 2 preset loaded, will make cymbal 1 silent when playing it?
      • When I try this, the new cymbal makes sound, so I wonder why it won’t happen to you…
    • Are you using the latest SD3 version – 3.1.2?
    • Are you using a DAW? In that case, is it the same behaviour if you try this in the SD3 standalone?
    • Have you installed all core sound library parts (1-5) for SD3?

This is most likely because some mixer channels have their volume set to nothing. Some preset makers have turned down the volume, since those channels didn’t fit into the sound of that preset. Those channels are sometimes also hidden – to make the mixer less cluttered.

In the mixer, click on the “Show All” button (above the mixer channels) to reveal all hidden channels. You’ll see some OH (overhead) channels that will have their volume turned down. Raise those volumes and see which ones that has the cymbal you are looking for. You can also disable the Hide button on the hidden channels, if you wish to have them shown 🙂

I am in the MIDI/In E-drums section but I do not see a “Save” option. Can you help?

When you do changes on the MIDI In/E-drums tab in Settings, those will be saved with your project. So if you want to have those settings for each time you start a new session with SD3:

    • Set up the e-drums in the Settings page as you want them
    • Go to main File menu > Set as Default Project
      • This will save the current “state” of SD3 as a default project, e.g. it will be loaded when you start a new instance of SD3.

You can also in MIDI In/E-drum settings go to the Preset menu (on the top left side) and save a User Preset, which you can load when you need it.

Just curious: why isn’t it an option to select all grooves on the song track and move them 10-20 measures later?

    • In the drums tab, go to (top left corner) Add Instrument > Future Hit and select Tambourine
    • Double click the groove on the song track to open Edit Play Style
    • Select the tambourine and increase amount. This will add tambourine. Increase amount even more to add other rhythms/more frequently played tambourine.

It will be fixed for the next update. In the meantime – add an empty track in SD3 and have that selected, then it won’t matter if Follow Host is enabled.
