My experience has been that the OH seems to handle cymbals, is all I can figure. if you want an actual fader for just the cymbals you’ll have to use something other than EZd2 I guess.

Or use a separate instance of EZdrummer, for just the ride. To save RAM, all other instruments can be set to None in that instance.

do you mean in EZd2 Menu ? there’s nothing called “mapping” in the menu of EZd2.

Sorry, I was a bit unclear. I meant Settings > E-Drums. In there, you can set MIDI Mapping to match e-drums of different kinds, and if this isn’t set to None the MIDI notes that goes into EZdrummer 2 will be transformed.

However, it doesn’t sound like that’s what causing the problem.

the second option (try to drag the groove to the song track of EZd2, and enable Follow Host) do not change anything.

So when you preview a groove in the Search (or Browser) tab, the MIDI plays back correctly, but when you drag it to the song track of EZdrummer 2 and hit play it doesn’t play back correctly?

I would suggest that you try Cakewalk by Bandlab as a DAW, since it’s free. I think it’s a better option than using the LE version of Cubase…

This would probably be easiest done in a DAW, such as Ableton Live, which would control SD3 so that you can start and stop at different points in the time line.

Well, also check that you don’t have any MIDI In mapping enabled (in the Menu). This will alter the incoming MIDI notes.

Also try to drag the groove to the song track of EZd2, and enable Follow Host. This should cause the MIDI to be played back correctly.

EZdrummer 2 doesn’t have a function for sending MIDI clock to external devices. This should be controlled from a DAW (if the DAW has this feature).

    That’s not possible unfortunately.

The core sound library, and it’s included MIDI, etc. is a part of the Superior Drummer 3 structure and main functionality, and can’t simply be removed.

Make sure that no other filters are active, such as a Genre, etc.

If that’s not the case: go to Menu > Advanced, and restore the MIDI database. Sometimes the search results aren’t correct due to a corrupt database!

This is a matter of physics – when you hit a tom, it will cause the snare wires to rattle – and that will be captured in different microphones. The closer the original tom is to the snare, the more the snare will make this sound – which is caused by air movement and the fact that the tom actually shakes, which can go through the tom stand and to the snare.

It’s not only the snare top and bottom microphones that captures the noise that the snare does – all microphones do.

Thanks for the request, and the image – which supposedly says more than a 1000 words 🙂 It’s noted!

    Sorry for the late reply.

Toontrack can’t answer any questions about coming products. All the MIDI can be tried, when enabling Use Webshop MIDI (You combine that with Tap2Find, filter, etc. to preview all the grooves that has been released from Toontrack since the start).

No, there is no automatic way to remove a bar (and have all MIDI data that follows to be moved accordingly). You’ll have to do this manually. Using the cut tool will make it easier: cut out the parts you don’t want and move the MIDI to fill the gap. Move any automation accordingly.

I will write it up as a feature request, as it may be handy to have such a feature in the software!

It means the source files can’t be found (they have either been moved, or the database is corrupt).

Go to Settings > Advanced, and select to restore the MIDI database and see if that helps!

I don’t know what libraries that comes with multiple snares by heart, but they aren’t common (well, generally drum kits with two snare aren’t common). Check the EZX:s on the products page, and you’ll see what they look like 🙂

You can’t remap MIDI notes, nor add new instruments in EZdrummer 2. There are EZX:s which has 2 snares (like the Reggae EZX). You can add another instance of EZd2 which has another snare, and any MIDI mapping would have to be done in the DAW.

All this can be achieved directly in Superior Drummer 3.
