Yes, this is a bug we have fixed. The next version is currently being tested and will be released ASAP.

Well, it depends on what you’re after. You can add a new instrument, or add a stack to a current instrument, and then change the MIDI notes for that instrument/stack in the MIDI Mapping property box (right side of the Drums tab).

You can’t have one note being used by multiple instruments (for example, so that note 36 goes both to the kick and to a tom).

It seems that when I closed the session and reopened, the problem was gone… not sure though. Let me investigate a bit more. I’m not quite sure I understand everything in regards to stacking, but I’m trying 😉

    Thanks for your help

Great! If it occurs again, save the project and post it here. In short – if you have a stack on an instrument, and go to the More > Stack menu, you should be able to remove the stack, and see use the other options for the stack.

A quicker way to interact with a stacked instrument (replace, remove, move, copy, etc)  is to right click on it. The stacked instruments are, as you’ve probably seen, in the top right corner of the Drums tab 🙂

Can you save a project file in Superior Drummer 3 (where the problem occurs) and post it here, so we can have a look at it?

Drag and drop the “SL-” folders you want to move, to the new location and edit the path in Superior Drummer 3 Settings tab. The “SL-” folders are the ones that contains, and are named by each SDX, so for example the core content folder is named SL-SuperiorDrummer3.

See the link in the manual below for more details.

SD3-Macros are not sending/updating the necessery infos to the DAW.

This can’t be done since plugins (such as Superior Drummer 3) can’t “tell” the DAW what to do.

Another Problem: If I move the fader bounded to a macro – the macro knob is not moving – so the state cannot reflected by the DAW.

This can’t be done either, but from a logical perspective! For example, say that you have connected a macro knob to to a volume and a pitch knob in Superior Drummer 3, so that when you turn the macro knob both the volume and the pitch changes.

If you would change the volume control, and that would change the macro, that would in turn also change the pitch control – which probably wouldn’t be intended!

Yes, all content is useable for regular stereo mixing! They contain more microphones, which is useable to add more room to the mixes. Those mics can be placed around in a 11.1 mix, but the can also be placed in the regular stereo field 🙂

Note that this also goes for all the property boxes, so for example you can set a separate tuning for the ride bell, and have the snare side stick articulation reversed 🙂

Hey guys, Is it possible to have separate volume settings...

Hey guys, Is it possible to have separate volume settings for different articulations when playing with E drums ? for example, Can the ride bell and the bow have different volumes to set manually ?

    Thanks.

Yes. In the Drums tab, you can select individual articulations in the drop down menu (top right side). The selected articulation(s) are the ones that’s being affected by the property boxes on the right side, for example the Volume.

I.e. select the articulation you want to adjust, and set the volume to the desired level.

    Can you:

    • Open the MIDI In/E-drums page in Settings, and in there:
    • Enable Use Preset (top left side)
    • Select Hi-Hat Pedal tab (on the right side)
    • Click the select hh pedal CC control
    • Now you should see a hi-hat calibration control
      • press “Start Calibration”
      • do as the instructions say (press the foot control, release the foot control, etc)
    • Does it work better now?
      • if not, what’s the minimum and maximum CC values your foot pedal sends?
      • does it look “smooth”, e.g. does the CC meter go from min to max without jumps?
