Thank for the feedback, it’s noticed. We can’t comment on when or if certain features will appear in our software.
It’s a nice feature to be able to use filters to exclude a certain tag. This is available in EZdrummer 2’s filter section (when searching for MIDI grooves), right clicking a tag open a menu where you can select “Exclude”.

Make sure that you are using the latest version of EZdrummer 2 (version 2.11). In EZdrummer 2’s menu, go to “Check for Updates…” and ezdrummer will tell you what you need to update.

If you browse the library with “Preview In Original Tempo” checked and you find beat that you like (in that particular tempo as the preview), change the BPM of you host to the value that the MIDI file had. In the latter of your cases (the Rock/Pop MIDI), set the host tempo to 57 and it sounds the same as long as you have Follow Host enabled.

The other thing that can change the tempo of the MIDI in EZkeys is if “Follow Host” is disabled in EZkeys. If you are using the host, you should have Follow Host enabled to make sure it uses the host’s tempo. But this shouldn’t (as John said) create a difference in tempo when previewing the MIDI with Use Browser MIDI vs when pressing “Replace” to make it end up on the song track…
Does this happen with all MIDI in Pop/Rock? Or only with some? Which ones in the latter case?

If you have MIDI both on EZdrummer 2 song track and in your DAW you can either delete the MIDI in EZdrummer 2 (or in your host) to avoid double MIDI being triggered. But most of the times it’s easiest just to unable Follow Host (the button next to the tempo, beneath the song track).

To see if the MIDI notes gets through to EZdrummer 2, open up a drum property on any drum (klick the arrow beneath the snare for example). If you there open the Details pane, on the lower right corner you’ll see the latest “MIDI in” note received by EZdrummer 2.
I haven’t used Live so much that I can help you with the settings there unfortunately.

You can record your own MIDI files in (directly in EZkeys or in a DAW like Cubase, logic etc.) These files can then be placed on the track of EZkeys, or in a Favorite folder.
EZkeys will try to figure out what chords you have played and where the chord changes are. You can edit these with the Chord Correction tool – the one on the bottom of the tools to the left of the song track.

Can it be a start to use a file from the Snare Rolls folder in EZdrummer 2 core library and combine it with some manually entered snare/kick hits to get a grove? This should be done in a DAW (Cubase or similar) since they are good at editing individual hits…

In Edit Play style: right click any instrument and choose Quantize – that will quantize only the selected instrument 🙂
