Hi, Im using Reaper as my DAW, but its not the latency issue im looking to tackle.
Im suggesting an improvement to the input interface for searching for grooves. Tap2find is nice in theory, but in the practical world is clunky (imo), and a simple grid input would help in finding those grooves faster, which would improve the whole experience of using EZD2.
I can of course program a separate midi groove and import that and search for a groove off that, as a fall back, but im sure it would be easier & an improvement to ezd2 to have this simple functionality added in to the program?
(apologies if ive posted this in the wrong place, i couldn’t find a “suggestions” box/area).
Thanks for the input! Your ideas are noted on out feature request list.

In EZdrummer 2, have you selected an e-drum preset (found in menu > settings)?

If you save a complete mapping preset, the hi-hat curve will be included!

You can always download the product, regardless if you bought it on DVDs or not 🙂

Thanked by: Kirill MilovidovThe simplest way is to add a Mute note! Open the grid editor, and expand the cymbal you are playing (press the arrow next to the name on the left side).
Using the pen tool, add a note on the cymbal choke articulation lane. There are other ways to accomplish a hand choke, but this should be the simplest.

Are you using EZdrummer 2 as a standalone? Have you setup EZdrummer 2 to use the correct audio interface?

this is nothing – where is the product manager – why there is no detailed information – all your habit is full of arroganz and ignoration – i will never never ever buy anything from your company again –
Is it a general complaint, or something specific? Can you explain what (if that’s that case), so we know what’s wrong?

Or, maybe I’m indeed in the wrong place (?)
Beneath the red arrow in your image, there’s a box called MIDI Mapping. In there, double click the number 95 (the current MIDI note it has assigned) and write 53!
To further my question, after I’ve done the above (incomplete as it is) I have an asterisk after the kit name, like so: ‘Indie Rock Room*’ This indicates a changed kit, yes?
Yes exactly.
So, do I understand correctly that doing a Kit ‘Save As’ (see pic) will allow me to rename my new kit as, say, “Indie Rock Room Tamb01” without messing up the original, whereas if I wanted to change the default “Indie Rock Room” forever then I would do ‘Save As’ to (exactly) “Indie Rock Room”?
Correct, you can then load this preset, with the cowbell, and any other change you have med to the kit or the mixer. That’s why these presets are called Drums & Mixer Preset 🙂

Thanked by: sj1Notice that you have two types of files in the tracker:
So to make sure you are not trying to mix the tracker audio files, export the tracker MIDI to the song track, and play it from there when you want to mix!

Please post the crash dump file here! Attach it to a reply.

You can detach the tracker tab, to see the tracker play controls in the same time as seeing the mixer page.
You can set a loop area in the tracker, to not have to set the tracker window in focus and starting it again as soon as it stops.

Thanked by: kmaus10Thank you so much, Henrik! That makes sense, however, the audio files I placed in the tracker are samples that I want to replace with SD3 drummer samples. The original samples had no bleed and SD3 seems to be adding bleed in the mixer. Can I change this??

Yes, that is done in the mixer page. Select the channel you want to control (for example the snare bottom channel). On the right side of the mixer in the Properties, you can see all the levels of bleed, and you can set the volume for every instrument, that bleeds into that mixer channel.
In properties, you can also disable bleed, which will unload the bleed audio, e.g. save RAM for you.

Sure – just find the grooves you want in EZdrummer 2, and drag them to the timeline – either the timeline in EZdrummer 2, or to the timeline of Garageband.
