EZdrummer 2 doesn’t have a real time velocity function. There are so many DAWs that work differently so it’s hard to answer that for you. What DAW are you using?

Have you checked that you are using the latest Steinberg Asio drivers, and that they are compatible with Win 10?

Have you tried Asio4all? (http://www.asio4all.com). I don’t know if that will work, but if your option is to downgrade your computer I guess it’s worth a try.

Are you using the latest update (version 2.11)? If not, update to that version.

If that doesn’t solve your problem – can you try to add some more MIDI files to your user folder? Drag some files from the EZdrummer 2 browser. If they show up in Search, there might be something about the 2 missing MIDI files that causes this.

In EZdrummer 2 you have some options when it’s used in a DAW (Sonar, Cubase etc):
    – When the “Follow Host” button is enabled (at the bottom of EZdrummer 2, next to the play control buttons), EZdrummer 2 will use the tempo set by the DAW. Further, when the DAW is playing, EZdrummer 2 will play its time line in sync to it. You can also preview MIDI files in the browser and search tab, and they’ll sync to your host
    – When the “Follow Host” button is disabled, you can run EZdrummer 2 in another tempo than your DAW.
    – When “Preview in Original Tempo” is enabled in the Browser and Search tab, the MIDI files will be previewed in their original tempo – as they were originally recorded.

No plugin softwares can set their tempo and tell the DAW to follow that, the DAW:s simply don’t allow that.

    Does this solve your issue?

Have you tried to set your MIDI mapping to Roland? It’s found in (top right corner of EZdrummer 2) Menu / Settings / E-drums.

6 ms is a good delay value!

Just so I understand – did you lower the snare hits by decreasing the Velocity in Edit Play Style (that opens when you double click a song block on the song track)?

This is one way to create count-ins:
    – Open the Search Tab, in the “Play Style” filter column select Count-In

    – Chose any of the files that shows up and drag it to the Song Track
    – Double click it to enter Edit Play Style
    – Drag the Power Hand sign to the drum you wish to play
    – I often use the snare’s sidestick. When you have dragged the Power Hand sign to the snare, click the menu arrow button on the Power Hand sign and select Sidestick.

If you change the Velocity in Edit Play Style on the lower right corner to -127, it should get very quiet.

The different presets are made to fit most of each brand’s kits. However, even Roland have some kits that differ – for example how the hi-hat work. Furthermore, the kit can be altered in the drum brain, e.g. MIDI notes can be changed etc. If None works with your kit, there’s nothing wrong with leaving it with None.

Have you tried setting EZdrummer 2’s E-drums MIDI mapping to Roland? Found in the (top right) main Menu -> Settings…

Ok, just checked what you had tried 🙂 No, when you use custom MIDI, it isn’t altered.

Have you tried to drag a MIDI block, a kick pattern for example, to the Tap2Find drop zone to find similar beats?

A workaround is record the toms one at a time, then you’ll get one wave file for each tom which you can pan to you likings.

The key of the song doesn’t have anything to do with what scale you are using. Generally – if you song is written in C major for example, it doesn’t imply if it’s a blues scale, a diatonic scale etc. It just states that the “home” of your chord progression is in C. The key selector is used to transpose all notes to the correct chord – it doesn’t alter any chords (turn a 3 note chord to a 7th chord for example).

EZkeys doesn’t have an option to set the scale. If you drop a blues MIDI block on the song track and add a 7 to a chord – it will try to play that chord as a 7th chord…

Have you tried to change velocity curve for tom 2? You can set the curve so that you don’t have to hit your e-drum that hard to produce a loud hit from Superior Drummer 2.¨
Drag the right handle left (as shown in screenshot, right lower corner). It’s found in the Mapping tab (on the top of the screenshot, also marked in a red ring).mapping.png
