Right clicking a block (Song Part, Chord, or MIDI) should bring up the Edit menu:

We don’t have any such plans, but I’ll write it as a feature request!

The doc will be extended in the future, to include all the key switches (of which most are mainly meant for MIDI editing, not live playing)

Yes, this is how the grid editor works. The controls shows a relative 0 position each time you select the note, and can from there increase or decrease the value.
This may change in the future, since it would be handy to see the exact values – when possible.

The chord selector can only have basic Major or Minor chords chords. The reasoning behind this is that in many cases, the bass will play the same riff – even if the chord is set to be a minor 7th, etc.
Do you want it for the bass to play those notes – or is it visual (so the the chord track shows the correct chords)?
Playing guitar or piano often means to play the notes that are included in the chord – but the bass will often not play those notes…
If you want a bass riff containing Dominants, 7ths, diminished, or augmented notes (of a chord) – either manually move the notes in the grid editor, or find grooves that has those notes in them.

This has been fixed, and will be included in a coming update!

Thanked by: Klauswe could have the global midi range larger! for instance, the range of a five strings bass, 24 frets, tuned in drop A would be perfect for my needs 😉
Can you explain this – do you want to be able to play lower than the current lowest note (A)? All the notes in the included 5 string basses can be played on a keyboard.
so if we could just have the possibility to enlarge the pitch bend range, it would be ok.
I’ll take a note of this and see if it can be done.
Thanks for the input!

Can you point to specific MIDI file(s) where you feel that the time signature is wrong? Or post an audio example?
It’s hard to answer when the criticism isn’t that specific 🙂

I have yet to find where those auto-saved backups are collecting on my hard-drive
I’ll add it as feature request to be able to open this folder from within EZbass
Although as I understand it… the visual feedback on the virtual Bass shows where the samples were taken from)
Exactly, they show where the samples were taken from. It’s hard to create a perfect system for this, since MIDI in EZbass can play “impossible” things, such as chords with 11 polyphonic notes in them, slides from the A string to the E string etc.
But I understand that it would be useful to see where a real bass player would add the notes in a chord etc. I’ll take a note of it!
I would like a wav output option made available from the standalone version
It’s on it’s way and will be included in a future update (after 1.0.3)!
Thanks for all the input!

Can you further explain this?
When you have groove on the song track, you can alt + drag (Mac) or Ctrl + drag (PC) any blocks to duplicate them.
Or you can select them, go to Edit > Copy. Then move the playhead (the line that moves when you play the song track) to where you want to add the copies, and use Edit > Paste.

Have you tried changing the amount threshold?
If you want to, you can post the audio file here so we can have a look at it! You might have to zip it before attaching it to a post…

Thanked by: Phil PendleburyThanks for the input. Cubase doesn’t report any info to the plugins about this bar offset, so we would have to add a similar feature in EZbass – where you manually enter the same value as in Cubase.
I’ll add this to our Feature Request list, and if it seems to be a common problem we’ll have another look at it!

Thanked by: Phil PendleburyCan you
Adjusting the note length using the slider on the Timing drop down seems to follow some rule where it works on some notes but other notes with an articulation applied doesn’t work.
Can you further explain this? The length of each note is adjusted regardless of what articulation it is, the difference is that the Length slider won’t allow notes to overlap, so a note won’t be extended further than to the next notes start (if they are placed on the same tone).
Being able to shift the timeline of the grid view without having to use the cursor on the bottom would be handy. Clicking and dragging the time rule is a typical option.
Do you mean to zoom the track?
You have maybe discovered these ways already, but still want the Cubase “drag the time line vertically” zoom option?
I’d like to be able to zoom in much more than the current allowable max value.
You can zoom more using the +/- button, or the mouse wheel. Have you tried those?
It would be helpful to switch between the Select, Add Notes and Cut pointer tools by right clicking instead of having to go back to the pointer tools icons on the left.
We have used keyboard shortcuts instead of right click shortcuts:
Again, you might have found those, but still want the right click “Cubase” shortcut system?
Note that the keyboard shortcuts usinc Cmd, Alt, and Shift are those on Mac. There are similar shortcuts for PC, all can be seen in Settings > Keyboard Shorcuts
